Bulgaria Sunny Beach Saint Vlas. Saint Vlas Bulgaria

Hotels in St. Vlas (Bulgaria) are becoming increasingly popular. This young growing resort is located half an hour from Burgas airport and five minutes from the famous resort of Sunny Beach. Its appearance is being built in a smart way, with complex infrastructure projects; fortunately, “infill development”, popular in the last century but now outdated, has passed it by. The resort here was not built from scratch, but as if in addition to the already existing district town. Thus, tourists here are not initially deprived of banking, medical and other infrastructural institutions, etc.

The cost of tours to hotels in this resort is quite affordable. Local three-star service is estimated for one person for 7 nights at a rate of 275-300 €; four-star - 380-430 €; five-star - 450-550 €. Thus, a Bulgarian five-star tour can be purchased for the price of a Turkish three-star one.

The highlight of a holiday in St. Vlas hotels is a calm atmosphere, a family-oriented holiday and a powerful therapeutic effect from the combination of the purest mountain air with the healing water of the Black Sea. Those interested can contact specialists for professional spa treatments. There is also a picturesque yacht marina where you can rent a boat. The Straja Planina mountain range provides the most comfortable climate for allergy sufferers and asthmatics. At the resort of St. Vlas, nature itself heals. The secret of healing is that the local air, unlike the classic sea air, is much drier. Practice shows: tourists who vacation at a resort during the holiday season in cold weather are much less susceptible to respiratory tract diseases.

Resort hotel facilities

Five-star hotel complexes in this resort are few in number. Travel agencies recommend one of them - “Garden of Eden”. However, not far from St. Vlas, just 4 km, there is another five-star hotel - Royal Castle Design & Spa Hotel. Four-star service is provided to their guests by the Apartcomplex Olymp, Marina Sunrise, and St. George hotels. The bulk of tourists choose hotels in St. Vlas (Bulgaria) with a three-level “star rating”. It is they, relatively compact and neat, that are most numerous here.

The resort of St. Vlas (Bulgaria) enjoys steady and well-deserved popularity among people who want to strengthen and heal their lungs. Finding a hotel here in advance is not a problem, since the existing infrastructure has a fairly wide range of 43 hotels ranging from three to five stars.

"Tropics"

The three-star Tropics Hotel (Saint Vlas, Bulgaria) with 52 rooms is located just 70 m from the beach and a 15-minute walk from the resort center. Despite the fact that it is located within the city limits, it is calm here. The four-story building of the hotel complex is quite presentable. Its façade, decorated with intricate glazing, faces the city street, and behind it there is a swimming pool area.

The hotel has spacious double rooms, new ergonomic furniture, air conditioning, and a comfortable furnished loggia. The TV is tuned to Russian channels. It's in good working order and roomy enough. There is quite decent Wi-Fi speed in the reception area. The hotel staff is Russian speaking.

The hotel has a children's playground and a children's pool. The territory of the hotel complex is quite compact, there is little vegetation on it.

"Iris"

Also, the Iris Hotel (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) guarantees its visitors a comfortable three-star stay. The three-story hotel building with spacious balconies has a rectangular outline. The hotel area is small, it is designed as a single terrace with an outdoor pool.

Its 45 rooms provide guests with a relaxing family holiday. The interior decoration of the rooms is dominated by “warm” colors: orange, brown, pastel coffee. The furniture in client rooms corresponds to economy class.

It is located quite close to another, noisier and more crowded resort of Sunny Beach. From the third floor windows you can see its beaches and hotels. The sandy beach of the Iris Hotel is small but neat. In the pool area, thanks to the shade from the walls of the building, you can hide from the sun. The hotel's food is noted in reviews as good.

"Larissa"

The three-star hotel “Larisa” (Bulgaria, St. Vlas), unlike the two already mentioned, hospitably opens the doors of two hotel buildings to its guests. 7 minutes walk to the sea. There are many inexpensive shops and restaurants around. The Mercury hypermarket is a 10-minute walk away. Russian-speaking staff. Good hospitable attitude towards guests. Internet at the hotel is free.

If the furniture, household appliances, and plumbing fixtures of Larisa are of approximately the same class as those in Tropic and Iris, then lovers of cleanliness will certainly enjoy staying there: rooms are cleaned here more often - daily, linen is changed every 5 days. In addition, despite the compactness of the territory, it is landscaped with fruit trees and ornamental plantings.

"Panorama"

Hotel "Panorama" (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) 3* also offers its visitors a good range of three-star hotel services in a three-story small building containing 24 rooms. The hotel is organizationally a family business. The owners are spouses. The husband resolves organizational and supply issues. My wife helps in the kitchen, and another relative works there. My son is on duty at the reception.

According to reviews from guests, the Panorama restaurant deserves special praise. The local team prepares an assortment of dishes exceeding the three-star level. If breakfast can be called standard and light, then lunch and dinner are prepared at home, and both the first and second courses for vacationers are prepared in two versions.

"Saint Vlas"

On the third line from the sea there is a three-star hotel "St. Vlas" (Bulgaria). Reviews from tourists about it indicate the efforts of the staff to please the hotel guests. It should be recognized that Bulgaria is distinguished by the quality of its resort economy holidays. The St. Vlas Hotel (the photo demonstrates this) is a typical example of a well-run private family hotel business: neat residential buildings, a clean swimming pool, a pleasant calm atmosphere, good food, cozy rooms. The safe is located at the reception. Guests use the municipal beach.

There is a bus stop not far from the hotel complex, from where you can go to the noisier resort of Sunny Beach.

An obvious advantage of the hotel is its proximity to a shopping center. However, the extreme compactness of the territory of this hotel complex makes it less attractive for families with small children.

"Julia"

According to reviews, the three-star hotel “Julia” (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) is convenient for families with small children, it has well-established and almost home-quality food, a children’s playroom, and a slide near the children’s pool. He is in the third line. Transfers are organized in the morning - to the beach - and in the afternoon - from the beach. Owner Boyan and his wife Iskra run their resort business with skill and warmth.

You can choose the type of food for yourself. The staff speaks Russian fluently, but among the guests, about 50% are Russian-speaking. The second half of the vacationers are British, Danes, and Germans. Most guests come here with families, that is, with children.

"Saint George"

For older people, as well as for families with small children, the four-star hotel “St. George” (Bulgaria, St. Vlas) is optimal. It was built in 2009, which made it possible to take into account the needs of a modern hotel industry. Spacious rooms are provided with simple but functional modern furniture and household appliances.

The hotel restaurant provides its guests with a variety of nutritious and tasty food. The restaurant menu is varied and varied. Visitors note the decent taste of meat and fish dishes, as well as the abundance of fruit.

There is a mini-club at the hotel complex. There is a well-equipped children's playground. Animators work with children. The hotel area is prudently fenced, which allows parents to somewhat relax their constant supervision of the baby during such activities. At this time, for example, you can visit the hotel fitness club with exercise equipment or swim in the pool.

Beach holiday

Tourists who vacationed in St. Vlas recommend this resort in their reviews. They unanimously note the local especially clean and pleasant air. Mountains, like a natural barrier, do not allow moist air masses to pass through. The air in St. Vlas is a cocktail of mountain freshness and sea ions; it is relatively dry. The average temperature is 27 degrees. The holiday season lasts from May to September.

The sandy beaches of St. Vlas “Marina” and “Central” are quite small, the sea area near them is limited to compact bays. Connoisseurs of sunbathing and swimming, noisy youth parties, and water sports prefer to visit the wide beaches of Sunny Beach, stretching along the coast, by means of transport. They can be reached by bus in 15 minutes.

Nutrition

Let's try to give an idea of food prices for those wishing to visit the resort of St. Vlas (Bulgaria). An economy class hotel treats its visitors to portioned meat for 17 leva; a second course in a pot, piquantly complemented with ham or feta cheese, or an omelette - 7 leva; soup - up to 4 leva; salad - 3 levs (1 lev is a little more than 35 Russian rubles).

Gourmet tourists were also not offended. The restaurant with a view of the sea and the embankment "Bistro B41" (very tasty risotto, mussels, Mexican chicken, chicken steak, Greek salad) received good recommendations in the reviews. You can taste good national cuisine at the Vodopady restaurant (meat and fish net, bean soup, tarator, all kinds of pancakes). At Kotva you should try the signature cake and paella, moussaka and kavarma.

In general, the infrastructure of St. Vlas, its street cafes and restaurants make it possible to significantly expand the hotel food ration. They are inexpensive and welcoming. There you can taste potatoes with cheese, shrimp, a variety of salads, and originally prepared chicken. The kiosks sell delicious pizza and pies.

Shopping

The resort of St. Vlas (Bulgaria) is considered a good place to buy souvenirs and various household items. A hotel - almost any one, even with shops on site - by itself cannot always satisfy the tastes of shopping gourmets. But the nearby infrastructure of small retail establishments organically complements its capabilities.

The main street pleases with an abundance of shops and restaurants for vacationers in a resort such as St. Vlas (Bulgaria). The hotel districts of the city come close to it. The currency exchange rate at local exchange offices is much better than at the airport.

However, local shopping options are, frankly speaking, limited. After all, the trade of a county town is the trade of a county town. The Mercury Grandmarket offers some variety. But tourists shouldn’t go too far in their expectations of the resort’s trade. You can count on local souvenirs costing up to 50 BGN.

But if you have big plans for shopping, do not despair, because the transport infrastructure of St. Vlas gives you a chance to implement them. You will be absolutely right in pinning your hopes on; however, as “option B”, a trip to the shopping centers of Burgas will also do.

Conclusion

The resort of St. Vlas is fundamentally different from the neighboring Sunny Beach. Its climate is more salubrious. It’s not for nothing that Western tourists have chosen the town: it is being built according to the patterns of a classic Western resort. Neat streets, shops, immaculate roads. Everything is quiet, beautiful, orderly. Here in the evenings, as in neighboring Sunny Beach, you don’t see crowds of drunk young people. Europeans who are accustomed to order feel comfortable and at ease here: Germans, English, etc. Among the guests, by the way, they are the majority.

Calm resort, decent place. Judging by the reviews, many tourists who have been here are not averse to visiting this place again.

The young, beautiful Bulgarian resort of St. Vlas is not so popular among Russian tourists, let’s get to know it better. We will tell you about the features of a holiday in St. Vlas in 2019, attractions, entertainment, beaches and prices in this article.

Not far from St. Vlas are Nessebar and Sunny Beach, and the first is clearly visible, as they are separated by a small bay.

Resort on the map:

The nearest airport is 40 km away, in. There is no direct bus to St. Vlas, so we get to Sunny Beach, and from there to the resort. A taxi to the place will cost about 160 Bulgarian levs (BGN).

From, from the Kievsky station, a train runs to Burgas 2 times a week. In two days, slowly, you find yourself in a Bulgarian city. Ticket price 200-250 euros.

Weather

The weather is fine. From May to September the sun is pleasant, the air warms up to +27. It is believed that the local air contains marine aerosols that have a beneficial effect on the respiratory system. It’s easy to believe this, since the resort is “sandwiched” between coniferous plantings and the sea!

For lovers of traditional seaside holidays, the period from June to the end of September is suitable. In May the sea can still be cool.

A young resort on the site of an ancient settlement

In 1963, the resort was officially declared a sea climatic resort. It becomes a favorite place for recreation and treatment of residents of the Soviet Union. It is no coincidence that 40% of real estate belongs to Russians. Particularly active construction of tourism infrastructure began in 2000, when in nearby Sunny Beach there were no longer free areas for construction.

It is interesting to know that St. Vlas is a very old settlement; Thracian tribes settled here already in the 2nd century; after them the place was called Larisa. Only 200 years later the settlement received the name Sveti Vlas in honor of the patron saint of trade, livestock farming, and doctors.

The settlement was also under the yoke of the Ottomans until 1920. The main population was Greeks, most of them were evicted to Western Thrace, which was transferred to Greece. Only 10 Greek families remained in Sveti Vlas.

City status was obtained in 2006, and a year later the largest yacht club in Bulgaria opened here. The resort is represented by hotel complexes with their own territory, swimming pool, and playgrounds. Streets with cute cafes and shops run down like streams to the sea.

The resort has a convenient location and will appeal to those who like a relaxing family holiday. At the same time, the popular and noisy Sunny Beach is nearby. You can easily get there by bus in 15 minutes, walk around, enjoy the crowds of vacationers and return to your cozy hotel. There is also a water park where you can go for the whole day. A bus ticket costs about 60 statins. If you decide to take a taxi, the cost is already 5-7 leva.

Bulgarian Cote d'Azur

Saint Vlas is a modern, beautiful, cozy European resort. Most of the resort complexes belong to the Dinev brothers, thanks to whom there is excellent infrastructure, everything is done in the same style.

Each hotel complex has its own landscape design. The territory is lovingly landscaped, complemented by interesting details: stylized bridges, flower beds with roses, fountains, gazebos.

Take a walk along Marina Dinevi, you will get the impression that you are at an expensive French resort or on the promenade in Palma de Mallorca: beautiful yachts gently swaying on the waves, scorching sun, palm trees, beautiful, happy tourists.

European youth vacation here

In the evening, sitting in a cozy, beautiful cafe and admiring the public passing by is also a pleasant experience. Such completely “mindless” pastime is very useful on vacation. Where else can you afford it?

On weekends, the “golden youth” like to come here. Next to the yacht club there is a nightclub - a place of entertainment for tourists and local youth. Here the curious gaze stops at expensive cars.

Sveti Vlas, unlike the noisy Sunny Beach, is considered a quiet place. There are long beaches, small cozy bays, as well as high mountain ranges that amaze travelers with their majesty and splendor.

From here you can easily get to other crowded Bulgarian resorts if tourists suddenly get bored with the romance of St. Vlas. The resort has a yacht club, tennis courts, fun discos and bars, good restaurants, souvenir shops, tiny hotels and comfortable hotels.

The village is located in a picturesque area and has modern infrastructure. Here you can spend your holidays with small children, because there are excellent conditions for a family holiday. The resort has a lot of animation programs - fencing and swimming lessons, beach volleyball, water gymnastics. There is even a mini club for children. People of all ages will feel comfortable here, because there are many ways to spend their leisure time.

St. Vlas is loved by those who prefer to lead a healthy lifestyle. This is explained by the fact that there is a unique climate here; the resort is located at the junction of the sea and the mountains. The sea breeze is characterized by the presence of a large amount of iodine, the forests emit a wonderful pine aroma, the mountain air is clean and fresh.

Rare motorcycles and children's disco

The resort is not rich in architectural and historical attractions. This is a cozy, beautiful corner, walking through it is a pleasure. Despite its youth, the city is home to temples and other significant places. Let's look at them.

The Church of St. Blaise is very young, erected in 2007 on the site of a monastery that was destroyed in the 7th century by Ottoman barbarians. The small building is distinguished by its beauty and cozy atmosphere.

People go to the temple to venerate the relics of St. Blaise, brought from Istanbul, as well as a particle of the Life-Giving Cross, which served as the crucifixion of Jesus. Nearby there is a source of drinking water and comfortable benches for parishioners. Twice a day, bells ring throughout the city.

Church of St. Athanasius the Great. The building has a modest appearance, erected in 1864-1865 during the period of Turkish rule. The Ottomans did not like the ringing of bells, so the bell tower appeared in May 1999 at the expense of the parishioners.

There is a plaque on the wall of the chapel telling about this. Father lives nearby, in an attached house. Inside, it is soulful and cozy; there are many ancient icons, church books and other liturgical items.

During the tourist season, the Arena amphitheater becomes the center of cultural life. It was built in the form of an ancient Greek theater with a capacity of 450 seats. All spectacular events take place on the stage. Mostly free. The schedule is posted at the entrance.

Also, attention children! Three times a week at 8 pm there is a children's disco with competitions and quizzes. Entry is also free. The fencing school provides lessons for those interested.

The Motorcycle Museum is a popular attraction for tech enthusiasts. Although the room is small, there are many interesting and old exhibits collected here. Don’t expect your guide to tell you in detail about each rarity. It will be interesting for fans of these iron horses. Entrance fee is 1-1.5 leva.

Beaches are different: comfortable and free

Not so long ago, Sveti Vlas was an ordinary fishing village. When the construction boom began in the country, several comfortable beaches were built. The main ones are Central City, South, East and Marina Dinevi beach. There are also smaller places for beach holidays. All of them are created artificially.

The main beach is located in the old town area and is divided into paid and free parts. You will have to pay about 5 leva for a sunbed and umbrella. Note: until 9 am and from 5 pm everything is free! Nearby there are grounds for playing football, volleyball, and basketball. You can leave your car nearby in a paid parking lot for 2.5 leva.

For lovers of comfort

Two beaches are located in the yacht club area. Residents of the Dinevi Resort complex are provided with free use of sun loungers, umbrellas and tents. The rest must pay 3 leva for each accessory. You can lazily lounge in a beach bar, order a cooling drink and enjoy the sun and sea. This is happiness!

Here you will also find sailing schools, spas, windsurfing equipment rentals and much more.

The beach area is restored annually to eliminate the consequences of winter storms. The descent into the sea is gentle here, so the water warms up well. The place is great for children's swimming. The beaches are decorated in traditional Caribbean style. Equipped with everything necessary: cafe, cabins, shower, toilet, sun loungers, umbrellas, wooden ladders, garbage cans.

Walk around the city

The resort does not have the usual promenade for many tourists. The main street Tsar Simeon, 700 m long, is located in the old city. That's where the main flow of tourists gathers in the evening. Along the street there are shops, cafes, bars and all the other surroundings required for a resort promenade.

Another main street runs parallel to the yacht club. Take a walk along it too. There are towns near the resort where you can go on your own by bus or rent a car. The bus ticket is very cheap - less than one leva. By taxi, depends on the distance.

Let's stop, it's delicious here

Indeed, Bulgarian cuisine is very tasty. Many dishes retain traces of Turkish and Greek cuisine. True, the Bulgarians will never admit this. For example, moussaka - Bulgarians say that this is their dish, but in Greece they will say that it is our national dish.

Well, okay, it’s delicious, what difference does it make to us whose it is. Be sure to try the local chorba soups, they can be with chicken, veal, other meats or vegetables. Baked lamb is the most tender meat cooked in the oven. You won't find it in every cafe.

Traditional Bulgarian dish kavarma. This is baked meat with spices and vegetables. Banitsa is a puff pastry pie with different fillings. Very tasty. Of course, fish and seafood are always delicious when they’re fresh (the sea is nearby).

There is a lot of food, the dishes are large, everything is delicious, and now let’s look at the prices. So:

  • salad - 4-6 leva;
  • side dish - 2 leva;
  • main meat dish - 6-8;
  • seafood from 10 leva;
  • dessert - 3 leva.

All-inclusive lovers, you run the risk of not trying many different delicious things while walking around the city in the evening.

Review of the best places

You can try national cuisine in the wonderful restaurant “Mehana Monastira” located in the “Monastira” complex. Dishes straight from a real oven. The Triumph restaurant serves Russian cuisine. Try fish in the stylish Vitorio restaurant.

Tuna - the restaurant is located in the open air, designed in a classic style. Designed primarily for romantic lovers and married couples with children. There is a cozy and calm atmosphere with live music. Visitors are offered a menu with dishes of Bulgarian cuisine.

Shopping during the day, having fun in the evening

If you go to Bulgaria for shopping, then St. Vlas will not be the best solution for this. It's better to go to big cities. There are many small shops in Sveti Vlas. The boutiques available at the resort are full of essential goods, as well as a variety of souvenirs, the cost of which on average is 50 leva.

A large Mercury supermarket, where you can buy everything: from groceries to cosmetics. You should definitely try the dairy products and bring the wine home.

In the evening, you can listen and dance to fiery Latin music at the La Cubanita bar.
Restaurant Noti serves as a food establishment during the day, but in the evening you can have fun here. Near Marina Dinevi you can visit two bars “Rococo” and “Magneto”. Near the yacht pier there is the Planet Yacht nightclub. Designed for a wealthy audience, there is an open area with sofas and a dance floor. If you are going here in the evening, leave your beach clothes in your room.

The Bells Hotel. Very popular among visiting tourists. Built in 2004. Each room is cozy and comfortable. Vacationers have the opportunity to drink coffee daily in the green garden adjacent to the rooms. There is also a beautiful swimming pool and entertainment for children.

A little about different things

Since there are not many attractions in the city, tourists book excursions to other interesting places in the country. For example, a boat trip will cost one person 15 leva.

You can get to the city in different ways, and accordingly, the amount spent will be different. For example, a taxi from Burgas costs 50-60 leva, a bus about eight leva. A taxi from Sunny Beach will cost 120 leva.

Tourists can stay in one of the many hotels in St. Vlas. The level of service in them is different. The price for one room varies from 600 to 7,500 rubles and above.

Visit the modern Bulgarian resort of St. Vlas - calm and cozy. Clean, comfortable beaches, healing sea air, friendly people - all this makes holidays in Bulgaria attractive. Not far away are the famous resorts of Bulgaria, which you can easily visit if you suddenly get bored with a quiet holiday.

A little more about the town in the video:

Sveti Vlas (St. Vlas) is a small town in Bulgaria, located on the Black Sea coast. Since 1963 it has been a climatic seaside resort. Now a little more than 4,000 people live in Sveti Vlas, and 40% of the real estate belongs to citizens of Russia and other republics of the former USSR.

History of St. Vlas

The first settlement on the territory of modern Sveti Vlas appeared in the 2nd century AD. It was a Thracian settlement called "Larissa". The city received its modern name in the 14th century in honor of Blaise of Sebaste, a Christian saint and patron of livestock.

In the 14th – 18th centuries there were several Orthodox monasteries here, destroyed by the Ottomans.

During the period of Turkish rule, the settlement bore several different names; the name Sveti Vlas was returned to it only in 1886.

Until 1920, the village was inhabited mainly by Greeks, but after a series of wars, Bulgarian families from various regions of Bulgaria appeared in it. The Greeks moved to Western Thrace, which by that time had been transferred to Greece.

A new stage in the history of Sveti Vlas began in 1963, with the opening of a climatic resort here. The next revival occurred in the 2000s, during the period of intensive development of the Black Sea coast. The resort received city status only in 2006.

Not far from St. Vlas are the bustling resort complex Sunny Beach (Slanchev Bryag) and the ancient Nessebar.

Resort Saint Vlas

Over the 54 years of its existence as a resort, Sveti Vlas has become one of the most popular resorts in Bulgaria. A number of circumstances contribute to this:

  • healing and mild climate;
  • convenient location in close proximity to major centers, but at the same time at some distance from them, ensuring a leisurely, comfortable stay;
  • a large number of cloudless sunny days;
  • clean mountain and sea air;
  • coniferous forests in the surrounding area;
  • warm sea – even in December the sea can warm up to +15 degrees;
  • beautiful beaches.

The resort of St. Vlas is great for family holidays, and the local climate creates natural conditions for the treatment of respiratory tract and asthma.

Beaches

The beaches of the resort are wide and sandy, located in small coves, well suited for swimming. The total length of the three beaches of Sveti Vlas is 1.5 kilometers. The Marina and Central beaches are located on both sides of the Marina Dinevi yacht harbor, the largest yacht port in Bulgaria.

The beaches of St. Vlas provide the full range of “classic” services: here you can ride yachts, jet skis, banana boats, water skiing; go windsurfing. There are special playgrounds for children. There are also no problems with food: there are numerous cafes and restaurants and shops open on the beaches and in the city itself.

The best time to travel to Sveti Vlas is from the beginning of June to the end of September. At this time, the air temperature warms up to +25-26 degrees, and the water temperature – up to +23-25˚C. There is no sweltering heat at the resort; this is facilitated by a fresh, ion-rich sea breeze.

Infrastructure

The resort's hotel complexes do not resemble monotonous, dull buildings. Each of them is decorated in an original style, has courtyards with swimming pools and bars, and sports grounds.

Prices for accommodation here are moderate, and this despite the fact that the resort has become a favorite place for recreation and residence of the local (and foreign) elite. By the way, the proximity of the “powers that be” ensures a high level of public order protection at the resort. There is also no need to worry about active construction within the city: construction work at resorts in the summer months is prohibited by Bulgarian laws.

There is no embankment as such in Sveti Vlas, and all purchases and services necessary for vacationers can be purchased on the two main tourist streets - Tsar Simeon and Mak, from which you can look at the yacht port. Tsar Simeon is the main shopping street of the town, passing through the central square with administrative buildings.

Sights of St. Vlas

One of the main attractions of the city is the Church of St. Blaise, the patron saint of the town, built in 2007. It was built on the site of a monastery destroyed by the Turks. This temple houses Orthodox shrines - the relics of St. Blaise and a piece of the Life-Giving Cross.

Another Orthodox church is the Church of St. Athanasius the Great, built in the mid-19th century.

Picturesque ruins remain from the ancient Orthodox monasteries, as well as the churches of Blachernae and St. Andrew.

Among the cultural attractions, it is worth noting the grandiose open amphitheater "Arena", on the stage of which you can watch performances by youth contemporary dance groups, theatrical performances, and all kinds of shows.

Other entertainment in St. Vlas includes local and international regattas, supercar rallies, beauty contests, auto shows, fashion shows, sailing school competitions and much more.

By the way, the yacht harbor “Marina Dinevi” can also be called one of the attractions of Sveti Vlas: it is designed for 300 yachts, with 50 places intended for royal class yachts with a length of more than 25 meters. The harbor is especially magnificent at night, when beautiful lighting illuminates the even rows of masts, the coastline and the mysterious shimmer of the sea.

On the territory of the marina there are expensive restaurants, stores of leading fashion brands, casinos and other attributes of “Dolce Vita”.

If you are bored with a beach holiday, and the local attractions have been explored far and wide, then you can organize an excursion to the ancient city of Nessebar (Nessebar), located just 10 km from Sveti Vlas. To do this, you can rent a yacht or take an excursion tour, they are offered at any hotel.

Of tourist interest is primarily Old Nessebar - one of the oldest cities in Bulgaria and Europe, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its age is more than 3,000 years, and on the territory of Old Nessebar, turned into a pedestrian zone, there are about 40 ancient temples and other evidence of its centuries-old history.

The main attractions of Old Nessebar:

  • Church of Christ Pantocrator (XIV century) with richly decorated facades;
  • Church of St. Stephen (XI century) - an Orthodox church made in the Byzantine style;
  • Church of St. John Aliturgitos (XIV century);
  • Church of St. John the Baptist (10th century);
  • Church of Hagia Sophia (V – VI centuries), made in the Byzantine style;

  • Ethnographic Museum, the exhibition of which tells about the life and crafts of the inhabitants of Nessebar;
  • An archaeological museum introducing the history of the ancient city.

In New Nessebar you can visit the Aqua Paralyze water park - the largest water park in the Balkans.

St. Vlas is a well-groomed, flourishing Black Sea resort in Bulgaria with a convenient location, excellent tourist infrastructure and a healing climate.

The city of Saint Vlas is one of the sea resorts. It is located on the Black Sea coast in a unique zone where the influence of two elements is felt at once - earth and water. After all, the local mild climate is due to the proximity of the sea and mountains. A holiday in Bulgaria at the resort of St. Vlas will cost much less than, for example, in Crimea, although the level of service here is much higher. St. Vlas will be very popular among connoisseurs of active water recreation, because all the conditions have been created for this. We invite you to go on a virtual tour of the sights of this wonderful resort town.

General information

As already mentioned, Saint Vlas is located in an ideal area for a resort. The weather of St. Vlas gives a very large number of cloudless sunny days in comparison with other Black Sea resorts. The best time to travel here is from the beginning of June to the end of September. At this time, the air temperature varies between 25-26 degrees, and sea water warms up to 23-25 degrees. Prices for hotel accommodation in Sveti Vlas are low when compared with average prices for similar services in Bulgaria. That is why here most of your money will be spent on entertainment, and not on paying for housing. Sveti Vlas has excellent infrastructure, so you won’t get bored or need anything here.

Sights of St. Vlas

One of the most convenient and affordable ways to take a tour of the sights of St. Vlas is to hire a carriage with horses and a driver. Here, such “taxi” are in use, so these vehicles, with a capacity of one or two horsepower, can be seen everywhere in the city. Such trips will be very interesting for children, and for adults we have good news - St. Vladimir animals are well-groomed, so you will not have to suffer from the characteristic smell while sitting in the carriage.

A completely worthy place to visit is the Arena amphitheater. No matter what day you come here, youth groups of modern dance and vocals constantly perform in the amphitheater, and concerts are held.

Near the Arena-2 hotel you can practice tennis. Local courts have a professional non-slip surface. There is also equipment rental available. To improve your skills, you can inexpensively get several private lessons from an instructor or take part in group training.

Beaches of St. Vlas

The coastline of the resort of St. Vlas is conventionally divided into several beaches. There are small pebbles in the sand of the main beach called Elenite, but they do not bother you in any way. Thrill-seekers can ride a banana boat, a rubber bun, a jet ski or skis. There is a rental of umbrellas and sun loungers, and the infrastructure is well developed. The length of Elenite is one kilometer. Not far from the Dinevi Resort residence there is a wonderful free beach. Pleasantly pleased with its design, reminiscent of those typical of tropical beaches. Here you can rent a yacht, go surfing with a sail (windsurfing), or a jet ski. To prevent children from getting bored on the beach, there is an interesting playground for them. Lots of eateries, bars, shops. Near the village of Elinite there is a very good beach, it is very popular, as the sea is always clean and spacious even on the most crowded day. There are many water attractions, and there are several free volleyball courts. There are several cafes and bars on the beach.

Saint Vlas is a young resort, which is located 6 km from Sunny Beach, 30 km from Burgas airport and 10 km from the ancient city of Nessebar. If you manage to visit this resort, you will be surprised by the comfort of this snow-white town, every street of which leads to the embankment. The resort of St. Vlas is not as crowded as the large Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach. There is a sense of calm and serenity here. The clear sea and sandy beaches will create a feeling of comfort, along with service, in the newly built hotels and apartments. Saint Vlas is the best place for a family holiday!

Opinions about the resort St. Vlas

They write that: St. Vlas is a relatively young and actively developing resort. It is located three kilometers from the largest southern resort of Sunny Beach. The village is located on a hillside, reminiscent of Crimea. There is clean air, good beaches, clear sea, and many inexpensive restaurants. Involves a relaxing holiday; for entertainment near Sunny Beach with discos, bars, restaurants, water park.

They write that: St. Vlas is considered one of the youngest resorts in Bulgaria, located 6 km from Sunny Beach. From here you can easily reach Nessebar, Burgas and Sunny Beach. People come to St. Vlas not only for relaxation, but also for health: the special local microclimate promotes the treatment of pulmonary diseases. This is an ideal place for a quiet family holiday, and if you want entertainment, then just a few minutes by taxi - and all the delights of the “party” Sunny Beach or Nessebar are there. The resort of St. Vlas is still uncrowded and quiet. The hotels are mostly private, small and, therefore, inexpensive.

They write that: Sveti Vlas is a city located on the Black Sea coast near Sunny Beach. Sveti Vlas occupies the northern part of the Nessebar bay and is located 10 km from the center of Nessebar. Sveti Vlas is a famous international tourist center. Every year tourists from all over the world visit this resort and take with them unforgettable memories of a pleasant holiday in Bulgaria. The natural sea breeze combined with crystal clear air creates conditions for sea balneotherapy and has a positive effect on patients with bronchial asthma and other lung diseases. The favorable climate is suitable for treatment all year round.

They write that: the resort of St. Vlas has begun to actively develop in recent years, becoming an alternative to the noisier and more crowded Sunny Beach. Both resorts are getting closer and closer to each other as new hotels appear on the coast. In addition to hotels, luxury residential complexes are being built in St. Vlas, which are very popular. Property prices here are rising faster than anywhere else on the Bulgarian coast. In 2007, the construction of the yacht port Dinevi Marina in Sveti Vlas, the largest marina in Bulgaria, was completed. A new grandiose project - the Dinevi Resort aparthotel complex, located in St. Vlas, offers accommodation in 26 modern apartment complexes, 13 restaurants and bars, 14 swimming pools for adults and children, a SPA center, an Internet cafe, tennis courts, a disco, fitness centers, beauty salons, shops and a private beach.

They write that: the village of St. Vlas is comfortably located on the slope of a mountain. Almost all of its streets with cozy restaurants and cafes go down almost to the sea. Saint Vlas is located 33 km from Burgas airport and only 4 km from the largest resort in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach. The advantage of the Saint Vlas resort is not only its proximity to the sea, but also its distance from the center of the Sunny Beach resort and entertainment complex, which gives guests the opportunity to take a break from the constant exposure to the noise and bustle of the big city resort. And if you want, you can get there in 5-10 minutes by taxi or public transport. On vacation in the resort of St. Vlas you will find crystal clear air, magnificent beaches, comfortable hotels and a fairly rich infrastructure. All this annually attracts a large number of tourists as lovers of peace and quiet. So are fans of active recreation. In this region it is the only place that combines sea and mountains. A characteristic feature of this resort is a completely new layout, in which Bulgarian architects were able to implement all the best structural solutions taken from recognized resort cities of the world. The embankment was built according to classical canons and is a center for evening walks. It is home to a large number of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Like any other resort, there are a lot of souvenir shops and benches.

Reviews about the resort St. Vlas

My girlfriend and I and three children vacationed in St. Vlas in August 2009. We bought groceries in the city itself, 20 percent cheaper and with more choice. Try "sour mlyako" - a thing!). Lunch - light salads at home or pizza with salads in a restaurant or bar on the shore. Dinner is usually at restaurants (Paradiso is more expensive, Italian and fish are simpler, but also delicious). You can walk to the yacht marina (if you have a stroller, then it’s a leisurely 30-minute walk). There are plenty of restaurants there, but since going in the evenings with small children is still a pleasure, we only went out 3 times. On the plus side: the absence of any drunken contingent that was encountered in Turkey. Everything is calm and orderly. A separate area creates some kind of peace and comfort. The apartments are spacious, new, nothing was broken. There are mountains nearby (or rather, hills, but they are mountains:) with pine forests on them, so the mountain + sea air is healing. In short, we liked it.
