Reviews for the hotel Grand Bahia Principe Tulum 5* (Gran Bahia Principe Tulum) Riviera Maya Mexico

SEA. The biggest disappointment in this hotel is the sea. More precisely, its absence. Even near the buoys the depth is up to the navel. Entering into rocks, you can get hurt. Although objectively, they could have been removed, as we saw in other hotels. Every morning there was seaweed, which the staff promptly tried to collect. The water is very clear. There are fish swimming around the swimmers. Very beautiful. And once even a stingray swam by. RESTAURANTS. What pleased me most was the service in the restaurants. The waiters are simply handsome!))) We tried to sit down in approximately the same place to be served by the same waiters. We didn't leave a tip every time, but a few bucks made our vacation just great! For breakfast, lunch and dinner, our favorite drinks were already on the table. Drinks included champagne, etc...

We stayed at the hotel in November. Nice hotel, everyone can find something to suit their taste. The area is very cozy, there were no problems with cleaning, the food is beyond praise - delicious! The beach is 2 km long: there is one for children, there is one without fences or buoys at all - take a mask and go to the fish... Near the pools it is noisy and fun, on the beach under the palm trees there is complete relaxation. Animation, discos, casinos, dolphinarium (every day at 12:00 show)... We went on excursions through (deleted by moderator). Excellent organization, excellent guides, small groups, comfortable transport. The prices are good.. I talked to her via WhatsApp. Recommended!Tourists from different countries: Americans, Canadians, Europeans. Everyone is friendly, saying hello...Tune in to positivity and smiles and your vacation in Mexico will be unforgettable!

We had a family holiday in November, the weather was great, only 2 last days it got a little colder. It was warm during the day, but there was a cool wind, and in the evening we wore sweaters)) The food at the hotel is excellent, here you definitely won’t find strange casseroles made from seemingly yesterday’s products, like in Egypt))). There is always a choice of different meats, fish and seafood. Lots of fruits and sweets. We went to 2 a la cartel restaurants - Portofino and La Gran Tortuga. In the 1st we ate delicious baked salmon, but the famous caprese was not even on the menu (((in general, it only has a name from Italian))) but everything was delicious anyway, so I’m not dissuading it, but for a change it’s very good! And the second one is Brazilian. First you take it as in buffet snacks, and then they bring you different types of meat and fish, it seems (But we don’t give it...

The Grand Bahia Principe hotel chain shows a consistently excellent level of accommodation and service! I liked it, it’s better to say that everything was at a decent level, so the holiday was wonderful! I really liked the country of Mexico! Traveling opened up places that I had previously read in books! I'm delighted!

Luxurious hotel with a huge territory! Very spacious, clean rooms, excellent furniture! The hotel has its own water purification system, we were told that the tap water is even drinkable! Huge restaurant with wide choice dishes! There are simply no words to describe the food - such variety and quality! The territory is large, there are even stops (there is a “train”), they are named after the numbers of your houses. The trains even carry you to neighboring hotels. Lots of bars, swimming pools. Well, a very well-kept area. A lot of animals. For example, iguanas crawl anywhere and everywhere like cats. They are afraid of people, but they do not refuse an apple. I saw capybaras several times at night! It was then that I learned about these animals for the first time - something like a gigantic guinea pig)). Also in the evenings I go to night cafes...

There is animation every day at 20.00 or 21.00, but it’s very weak, it can’t be compared with the Dominican Republic. One group for 1 hour, no variety. As for animation for children, it’s almost a basement, very stuffy, air hockey doesn’t hold the puck well, it falls straight to the child in the eye. Children's water slides look very beautiful, but are very dangerous, as they are very shallow and children hit the floor, scratch their legs and cry. I have had 3 cases and my child is no exception.

It cost me 200 thousand rubles in 12 days. 2 adults and one child 4 years old. I’ll tell you about the disadvantages right away. First, not about the hotel. When you arrive, already on the bus the guide is talking nonsense: he dissuades you from going to 5th Avenue, as if there is nothing to do there, he imposes shkaret and explorer and much more simply for crazy prices. Since I rented a car, I managed to find out the real prices. Entrance to explorer during the day it costs 119$, and at night 99$ through a guide, 170$, as the guide says, like a transfer, so from the hotel to explorer there is a minibus running right along the road for 40 pies - that’s 2.5$, that is, 150 rubles, but not the same 50$ The situation is the same in all other places. Entrance to Tulum is $4. In general, it’s better to rent a car yourself. There are no Russian-speaking guides there, and if there are, they charge $50 per person for their services for one excursion. Rent the car costs $60 ben...

I won’t write about the pros; read the previous rave reviews - I generally agree with them. I’ll write why I gave it a four for the accommodation: We took a suite for two adults and a child (7 years old). Upon check-in, we received a room on the first floor in the FARTHEST building from everything possible. That is, this is a building in a hotel - there is nothing worse. Judging by the shabby state of the room itself, the broken-down children's bed opposite the air conditioner, the European sockets coming out and the obscenities of the person behind the door trying to drag his luggage up the narrow stairs to the second floor, this building is intended for our compatriots. In addition, it turned out to be a “connection”, all the delights of which we felt at night when the neighbors came (I now know all their intimate details, although I have not seen them “in person”). Having survived this...

We chose the hotel at random (based on positive reviews on the Internet), flew and did not regret it! Meeting and check-in went well (Club Hacienda / vip bracelets) with welcome cocktails and smiles. We lived in villa 33 on the 3rd floor near the main restaurant (on the first night we immediately realized that life in the kitchen was in full swing, then it was quieter or our remark on this matter was heard, or we no longer paid attention due to adaptation over time ), next to the gym (super, because the food with such a variety of goodies here is 5 C +) and the main reception (convenient, because this is the main “stop” for cars to travel between hotels). I don’t recommend the first floors (I think uninvited guests (attractive raccoons, roaches and iguanas) might get in and it’s probably not so cozy). Our room was excellent...

The hotel consists of several. I was in Gran Bahia Principe Akumal 5*. He and Gran Bahia Principe Tulum 5* are on the first line.
If you also pay extra for Club Hacienda, then you will be happy))) Food in your room around the clock and rooms with ocean views. The first three days, due to the time difference, we fell asleep before dinner. We woke up at night and didn’t know where to go or what to eat. It turned out to be simple: you call and they bring it straight to your room.
The food is of course great. The entire bar is based on tequila, and in my opinion there’s nothing you can do to spoil it.
The territory is huge. You can order a car from your room to take you to the restaurant.
Of course, I also read the reviews before the trip. In one I read about rats and was terrified of meeting them))) It turned out that these are very cute capybaras.
In general, there are many...

the most unforgettable vacation! everything was great! despite the language barrier, the whole vacation was positive! great people work in this hotel! always a warm welcome, always help in solving all sorts of problems. I left a piece of myself there - in those people to whom I became attached in just a week! A heavenly place - I recommend it to everyone! Gran Bahia Principe Tulum 5* - unforgettable! welcoming! cordial! ...

We stayed at the Hacienda Club. We traveled to the hotel for 4 days by car in Mexico, so we arrived at the hotel tired. We arrived in the evening around 22.00. At the reception they were surprised that it was so late, did not offer us a welcome cocktail and checked us into a room other than the one we had previously booked (we were checked into a neighboring villa). There was no strength to swear, so they agreed. The room is good, the sea view is of course a little disappointing, but it’s better than no view at all. The location of the villa is very good (villa 35), close to the Tulum restaurant, the beach and pools, the Tulum snack bar and the Tulum reception. Hacienda Doña Isabel is within walking distance. I’m very glad that at the last moment my friend and I decided to cancel our reservation at Golden Kobe and book the Hacienda Club in Tulum. It is very inconvenient to get from Koba...

We were at the hotel from 12/31/14 to 01/10/15.
First, about Pegasus, and their daughter North Wind. Pegasus showed himself not at his best, the meeting representative gave the phone number of the hotel guide and said if you need anything to call him. It was difficult to get through to him, they decided everything themselves as best they could, the language barrier takes its toll. But It’s good that at the reception we saw a Russian-speaking guide from Corolla, the girl helped us get accommodated and explained how to sign up for New Year’s dinner. The drive to this hotel is 2.5 hours.
About the North Wind, it’s simply disrespectful to your clients, to provide such planes for such a distance, the seats are narrow, the distance is small, (I have never seen fewer seats and the distance between them), the seats are hard, no monitors, individual air ducts, no backlight, call the conductor no, armrests for exit...

Hello! Finally, I found the time to write a review about this wonderful hotel. We flew with the North Wind airline. I can’t say anything bad, standard cramped economy class, plus refueling in Reykjavik. The total flight there is about 15 hours. Tiring of course. The food is average, the flight attendants are moderately friendly.
At the Cancun airport everything was surprisingly fast, passport control, luggage, customs. We were transported to hotels on a large bus (tour operator Pegasus) for about 2 hours, our hotel was the last. We arrived right at check-in at 15:00.
We had a Hacienda room, a separate reception, proximity to the sea and a number of other minor advantages.
We got a room in villa 35 on the first floor. A little dark due to the abundance of greenery outside the balcony. They did not change it mainly due to the language barrier. The room...

My husband, children, and I decided to go to Mexico for the November holidays and chose a hotel on the Yucatan Peninsula
Grand Bahia Principe Tulum 5*. We have been to many countries, we can compare food, service, and accommodation. They accommodated us right away, since we have two children, they should have given us a room for four, but for some reason they provided us with three beds. We contacted the reception to change the room or bring a bed. They did this after our fifth request, instead of a duvet cover they brought us eight warm blankets))), something was always leaking in the bathroom, they changed the blankets strangely, sometimes they would take it away and not bring it, sometimes they would bring more than needed. The main restaurant is very varied, well done to the chefs!!! well cooked. Now about the sea and the beach, the beach is clean, but the sea is not very good, no one cares about algae...

We were flying and were afraid that we would end up in the rainy season. However, we were lucky, it only rained once. It was not in vain that we took the ticket))). I forgot to say that we flew with Transaero, we took the tour packages from Transaero tour.
The hotel area is simply huge. Well-groomed, you can immediately see it. Full of greenery.
New buildings are being built, but this does not interfere with recreation. There was no extraneous noise. We only learned that something was being built when we saw it with our own eyes.
There are like 4 hotels here. They all look alike. You can get to each of them by bus. My husband and I preferred walking. The food is very tasty, we tried to lose extra pounds))).
The main restaurant turned out to be very large. The food is different, everyone will like it. Watermelons are delicious and melt in your mouth. Last...

From January 25 to February 5, 2013, with my wife, Moscow - Cancun, 11 days, the flight was not at all tiring, we flew for the FIRST TIME from Russia... There was a slight wait for accommodation, but we were sent for breakfast! After settling in at about 12 (we flew to the hotel at 7:20) we went to the sea and got lost... The Caribbean Sea is excellent... The room in the villa on the third floor is ideal... Cleaning, etc. Cool... We took the excursions ourselves on the spot... The downside of the holiday is the long check-in at the airport in Mexico... Terrible tour operator Pegasus, as for the guide who interrupts... Everything was ruined by the scarecrow... And Mexico is super!

Hi all! We vacationed in hotels in July 2013. The flight was not easy. We flew for 12 hours. We registered for the flight in advance. We arrived at night, while driving to the hotel, the guide spoke very interestingly about the country. It took about 2 hours to get to the hotel. We were placed in villa No. 27. It was a 7-10 minute walk to the reception. The area is beautiful, a lot of greenery. Various animals run across the lawn. A lot of guanas. The staff is friendly and always says hello. There are a lot of foreigners in the hotels, most of them are Americans. Food for every taste. Ice cream every day. In general, everything is very tasty. Buses also travel around the hotel, you can visit the neighboring hotels Koba and Akumalt and eat there. About the sea, very shallow, there are breakwaters. We went to the Akumal beach to swim, there was more. On the beach white sand, they clean it every day, but I still leave cigarette butts lying around...

We vacationed during hurricane season in September. I can safely say that it can rain continuously for 12 days, do not believe travel sites that write that tropical rain rains for 10 minutes, bringing with it a refreshing coolness. But it's all about the weather, it can be different. Now about the hotel. The hotel is very clean and large, the food is 5 stars (especially in the themed restaurants). Evening animation is at a decent level. The beach strip is long.

From the hotel for 3 dollars you can take a minibus to the town of Playa del Carmen, who wants to really save money, look in advance on the map where Walmart is located, you can buy everything you need at regular prices. The town is very calm, there are a lot of police and tourists around. We easily found this store without knowledge of the language or a map.

If you have any questions, write me, I'll try...

Hi all!

Just returned from Mexico. Tour operator - Southern Cross, Transaero airline. Quite a decent Boeing, back and forth: TVs worked, toilets were cleaned, headphones, blankets, socks and eye pads were in everyone’s seat pocket. We went through customs quite quickly, no one’s red button lit up - I didn’t notice any kind of total terror, as they wrote in the reviews, everything was leisurely at the level of the Dominican Republic, and about two hours later we were brought to the hotel. There is absolutely nothing to complain about in organizing a transfer to the hotel; Southern Cross did an excellent job here!

Accommodation:

Initially, we took a room in Gran Bahia Principe Coba 5* (and the cheapest and most cheerful hotel according to reviews), and we were quickly accommodated in villa No. 16B on the first floor. It immediately became clear that we had been driven...

Hello everyone! We recently returned from this wonderful country and from this wonderful hotel! We have been on vacation since 01/23/14. to 02/07/14. in two pairs. We flew with Aeroflot from Coral. Everything was fine, without delays. It took a long time, of course, but we were prepared for it in advance. This country is worth it!

We moved in immediately, but we wanted to be closer to the sea, and the nearest superiors were all occupied. So, villa 334. They offered to move us in two days. But after checking in and living for a day, we decided not to move: and so everything is within walking distance - the sea, a sports bar, a swimming pool , it’s a 6-minute walk to the main restaurant and reception. For that there is silence. Although, to be honest, we only saw screaming Americans twice on the way to the restaurant - they sat on the balcony for two days and didn’t leave. But otherwise everything was decent and orderly.

ATTENTION!!!VADIM IS WORKING!!!And it's great!This...

My husband and I had our honeymoon. We had a combined tour, it was called fly and drive. The first five days of our vacation we traveled independently around the Yucatan in a rented car, and the remaining ten days we enjoyed our vacation in Tulum!
We arrived at the hotel in the morning, parked the car and went to the reception. I was pleased that the staff speaks fluent English (unlike the staff of most hotels in Yucatan, who only understand Spanish).
We checked into our room quickly, and we were taken to our room with our things on one of the shuttle cars that constantly move around the vast territory of the hotel. It was located in a detached villa on the third floor. We liked the room - large, clean, new furniture, balcony overlooking the garden. Since we were newlyweds, we were promised congratulations from the hotel (it was supposed to be a decorated room). We were, of course, looking forward to it. But, unfortunately, we didn’t see anything special. The only thing they decided to congratulate us with was a small bottle of tequila blanca that was on the table, and a couple of fruits on the plate =)
Now about the hotel territory. She's just huge; It seems that you won’t be able to walk around it all in a whole day! =) A lot of greenery! Another special feature of the hotel is that there are a lot of all kinds of living creatures living here: iguanas, raccoons, roaches (attached photo). Raccoons are something! On our first evening at the hotel, we went to dinner in the main restaurant. We decided to sit by the open window. The windows were located at ground level, and if you look through them, you will see nothing but greenery. We are sitting, having dinner, and then the impudent face of a raccoon peeks out from the bushes. We put him a piece of bread, he didn’t even touch it, and when we gave him the meat, he quickly grabbed it with his paws and disappeared into the thickets. I've never seen anything like it!
The hotel has its own sandy beach. There were always enough sunbeds and umbrellas. The only thing I didn’t like was that there was often algae floating off the coast, which they didn’t always have time to remove. The hotel has several swimming pools, one of which has a bar. We really liked the bartender - he was cheerful, friendly, constantly dancing and showing all sorts of tricks with bottles. He also periodically jumped up on the bar counter with a bottle of tequila and treated everyone behind the counter directly from the bottle - it looked very funny!
The food was very varied - from national Mexican cuisine to Japanese, with rolls and sushi. Lots of seafood dishes! The seafood soup was simply excellent. My husband also really liked the pork ribs in some unusually tasty sauce - he still remembers them. I was pleasantly surprised by the presence large quantities dietary dishes. There was even muesli and a bunch of types of yogurt. Unlimited ice cream!
The animation was good. During the day, various competitions with prizes were constantly held, and sports competitions were organized. In the evenings, in the amphitheater located on the hotel grounds, there was a performance, a new one every day. What was not there! Dancing, songs, skits, aerialists, magicians.
I can’t help but mention one important point: the Gran Bahia Tulum hotel is part of a complex consisting of three hotels (Tulum, Akumal and Coba), located in close proximity to each other. A special feature of the complex is that all vacationers can move and relax in any of the hotel areas. For example, we dined in restaurants in Koba and Akumal more than once, and also had fun in a nightclub located on the territory of Koba and went to shows at the Akumal Dolphinarium.
The service was at a fairly high level. The rooms were cleaned daily, linen and towels were changed promptly. Naturally, we left a tip of a dollar for cleaning, as well as for the waiters for fast service. The waiters are very helpful, polite and attentive. It also happened that they forgot about us, but this only happened a couple of times and, in principle, it was understandable - there were a lot of people, a lot of workload.
Overall, our vacation was a success! The only disappointment was the long acclimatization and the fact that it rained for a couple of days. But, despite all this, now we remember our honeymoon with a smile and really want to get into this fairy tale again someday!

We just arrived from this beautiful country, rested in this hotel in mid-March. I liked the hotel in every way. We were put in a good room, there were three of us. We were given a room with three huge beds, the buildings are arranged so that when you go out onto the balcony you don’t look into windows of the neighboring building....More ▾ We just arrived from this beautiful country, rested in this hotel in mid-March. I liked the hotel in every way. We were put in a good room, there were three of us. We were given a room with three huge beds, the buildings are arranged so that when you go out onto the balcony you don’t look into windows of the neighboring building. The guy who cleaned our room surprised us every day with his crafts from towels, we were impatiently waiting for his new works, smart guy, we gladly left him a dollar, and the guy always put extra towels and a bunch of shampoos and gels for us and body creams. The territory is very large, we could easily visit and use the restaurants of two more hotels of this chain, trains run between the hotels and it is written on them which hotel they are going to, don’t be shy and stop. The good-natured driver will always answer you where he is going, and near the reception, when they arrive, the drivers say where the train will go. There are a lot of different animals on the hotel grounds, when we went out onto the balcony, every day funny agoutis ran and played in the clearing, raccoons and nooses often came to the restaurant, which we could feed from hand, and in the night cafe there are always beggarly raccoons on duty, I fed them with great pleasure))) There are almost always pelicans on the beach and pink flamingos flying by. There are a lot of monitor lizards, they just bask in the sun everywhere. The sea and the beach are beautiful, because the sea is mostly with waves, then the breakwaters make it possible to swim calmly, but if you are too shallow, then go behind the breakwaters and swim there. We also went to a beautiful lagoon, it is to the right of Tulum, but it takes about 20 minutes to walk, walk the entire beach and then along stones and around the bend there is a beautiful lagoon, where there are no waves and wild beach, you swim for your own pleasure without breakwaters, you can also go to the left of the hotel, there in front of the villas you can also swim without breakwaters and jump on the waves. About the weather, I can say that it is very changeable, there may be clouds for half a day, and then clear sky and bright sun, it could also start to rain and get colder, and in the morning the sky was clear again, there was always wind, but nothing marred our vacation, it was such a bright and beautiful country. Every other day we went on excursions, I was on a tour. the agency found more houses and, having compared prices from Coral, who met us, I took from those whom I found, you can go to Playa del Carmen and there are many travel agencies there, their prices are even lower, but the groups will hardly be Russian, but we are still We decided to go with ours and had mini groups rather than a huge bus. We visited Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum and swam in cenotes. Of course, you can go to Tulum on your own, but it was more convenient for us with an excursion and we immediately visited Coba. the whole day spent in Xcaret Park. The park itself didn’t make much of an impression, but the evening performance overshadowed everything, it was amazing.... I highly recommend not sparing the money and visiting the Coco Bongo discotheque, you can order tickets at the hotel, but we took them from those who excursions. The disco is just a delight and a charge of positivity, we took VIP seats, they cost 135 dollars, you can sit and watch the show program from the third or second floor and you can also dance there, drinks are always included in the price. If you If you take a simple ticket, you will be downstairs with the whole crowd, and frankly speaking, there are a lot of people downstairs, like herrings in a can, and there are no places to sit there. In Playa Del Carmen, calmly drive on your own, go out onto the road and the minibuses stop and stand by themselves they are 3.5 dollars. one way, it’s more convenient to pay in pesso, get off at the terminus and ask how to get to 5th Avenue, it’s nearby and you’ll end up on a street with shops and cafes, half a day wasn’t enough for us to see everything and we came several times. The souvenirs are all very colorful and bright, can be purchased at Chichen Itze, there are a lot of them and you can bargain, otherwise you can bargain everywhere, in Playa del Carmen there are even more of them and basically we bought everything there, there is also a Hacienda near the hotel, there is a bazaar and go into its territory and there are many shops and cafes there, but in Hacienda the prices are more expensive, and in the bazaar near it you can bargain well. The food at the hotel is good, we were satisfied, there is champagne in the morning, you can go and pour as much as you want, and then take it and all other drinks in the hotel bars, there is also tequila all the time, 6 types, come and pour it, ice cream every day different types, rolls, sushi, every evening, but they are not very tasty., a lot of things are designed for Americans, there are always hamburgers, assemble it yourself and make what you want)) There is a children's table in the restaurant, for kids you will find normal food, they also make mashed potatoes In general, we were satisfied with both Mexico and the hotel, I can recommend this hotel to everyone.
