When the sea is calm in Mui Ne. Phan Thiet (Mui Ne) resort, Phan Thiet (Mui Ne, Mui Ne) resort reviews from tourists

There are not many attractions, but in its surroundings, as well as in the nearby city of Phan Thiet, there is something to see.

Other names: Red Stream, Magic River.

This is a very tiny river or stream passing through a sandy canyon of red and white sand and flowing into the sea in Mui Ne.

The sand here is mixed, multi-colored, in a word, Red and White dunes in one bottle:

Red and white sand

Inspecting the Fey stream involves walking along it barefoot, as long as you have the patience. Mostly the stream is quite shallow, but in some places the water can even reach knee-deep. A 20-minute walk along the stream was enough for us.

In some places, mini-streams can be seen flowing from the canyon and flowing into Fairy Creek. During our walk we came across this touching picture:

Fairy Creek, view from above:

Entrance to the river is free. If you come by bike, you will have to pay the local guys for their impromptu parking 10,000 dong ($0.4).

Mini-zoo Vita Garden

A small zoo a little further from Fairy Creek. Among the animals in the zoo there are: elephants, giraffes, iguanas, monkeys, lynx, crocodiles, porcupines, snakes, rabbits, turtles, parrots. The animals can be fed, and some can even be petted and held in your hands. If you are vacationing in Mui Ne with a child, he will definitely like this place! Here you can also fish in a small pond and relax in Vietnamese hammocks.

Red Sand Dunes

Dunes called red are actually light orange in color. The Red Canyon is really red (more about it in the next paragraph).

View from the other side: you can see the road and the sea:

The Red Dunes are located just 3 km from Mui Ne. When approaching the dunes, you are attacked by local aunties and kids offering 30,000 dong ($1.3) an improvised “sled” for riding on sand dunes - a piece of plastic with a handle. Of course, we decided to try it.

Vanya drags the sleigh up the mountain

We didn’t like the result: there was no speed, and after such rides the sand evenly covered every centimeter of the body: a rather unpleasant sensation. They say you need to lubricate the plate with coconut oil for better glide.

The duration of the Red Dunes is only a few km. Entry is free.

Red Canyon

It is located 19 km from Mui Ne and 16 km from the Red Dunes, on the way to the White Dunes. It is quite difficult to notice the entrance to them: there is only a small sign. Previously, entrance to the Red Canyon was free, but since 2017 you will have to pay to visit this attraction 50,000 dong ($ 2,2) per person (children free).

Most likely, the paid entrance is due to the fact that the territory of the Red Canyon has been improved: there is a children's playground with swings, many benches, cafes, free toilet and even a campsite where you can camp with your own tent.

Signs prohibiting lizard hunting are posted throughout the area:

And there are an incredible number of lizards here! They are quite large and gallop in the grass like horses. Here is one of them:

The Red Canyon amazes with its Martian landscape:

Here you can also see several sculptures made of red sandstone (of course, not as beautiful as in the sculpture park, which we will talk about below):

You can climb the stairs to the observation deck at the top of the canyon. From here you have great views of the canyon itself and the coast. There is a cafe on the observation deck where you can drink coffee or have a snack.

White dunes and lotus lake

They are located 27 km from Mui Ne and 8 km from the Red Canyon. Are considered the most beautiful place the entire province. The white dunes of Mui Ne resemble a desert: white dunes, and nothing else for many kilometers away. But this is how they look only from one angle, which is what all tourists strive to capture.

In fact, the white dunes are located near the highway and their duration is not that long: the entire massif of white sands is located in an area of 10 km, but tourists usually see only their edge. Walking on sand is quite difficult, and the constant wind in Mui Ne tends to blow this sand into your eyes, nose, mouth, ears and everything else.

Not far from the road there is the so-called “main camp”, equipped by local children. It's worth entering here 10,000 dong. Besides hiking through the “desert in miniature”, you can also take an ATV excursion from the main camp along the white dunes: this will allow you to see them in detail. Rental price: 200,000 dong in 20 minutes on a small and 400,000 dong in 20 minutes on a large quad bike.

Not far from the main camp in the white dunes is the next attraction - Lotus Lake. There is nothing particularly remarkable, just a lake overgrown with lotuses. If you are lucky, you will see the lake in bloom.

Cham Towers (Thap Poshanu Towers)

Built in the 8th century during the reign of the Cham Kingdom in honor of the god Shiva, whom they worshiped. About 300 years ago, this temple complex was destroyed, and only three towers have survived to this day. To this day, local fishermen come to this dilapidated temple to ask the gods for a rich catch and safe fishing. The architecture is identical. If you've already seen it, there's no point in watching it.

Located near Mui Ne, on the way to Phan Thiet. Entry cost - 5000 dong ($0.2).

Sand sculpture park Forgotten Land

A completely new attraction in Phan Thiet: the park opened only in 2017. A team of artists and sculptors from 12 countries (including Russia) created a real fairy tale from red sandstone. Popular fairy tales, myths and legends, as well as famous landmarks and relics can be seen in the sculptures different countries peace.

I just can’t believe that a person can make something like this out of red compressed sand:

All sculptures are protected from rain. There are already a lot of sculptures in the park, but work continues.

Located at the entrance to Phan Thiet. Open daily from 7:30 to 18:00. Entry fee: 100,000 dong($ 4,4) for an adult and 70,000 dong ($ 3) for children's ticket.

See all photos of the sculpture park at.

Hot springs in Muine (Muine Hot spring Center)

Located right on the main and only street of Mui Ne. Travel agencies often offer tourists a trip to the Binh Chau hot springs, which are located 100 km from Phan Thiet, but almost the same thing can be done without leaving the village!

The complex has an area with mud baths, hot mineral baths, a cold mineral pool and a Charcot shower. Of course, judging by the reviews of tourists, this SPA center is very modest, the territory is small and uninteresting, and the mud is liquid: this SPA center in Mui Ne is far from the Nha Trang mud resorts (there are 3 of them in Nha Trang: , and ). But for those who have chosen Mui Ne exclusively as their vacation spot, it is highly recommended to visit this SPA center.

Fisherman Show

A beautiful colorful musical show with traditional Vietnamese dances and music. Legend of a fishing village beautiful story love. The design of the show impresses the guests: a laser show, dancing fountains - a symbiosis of water and light. Especially for Russian guests, everything that happens in the play is dubbed into Russian on the big screen, so you will definitely be imbued with this story.

After the performance, the artists go out to the guests and take pictures with them. You can get to the theater itself by bus, which goes from Mui Ne to Phan Thiet, and back only by taxi (or rented bike), since the show ends after 21:00.

The show starts at 20:00, duration is 1 hour. The show is held every evening from Wednesday to Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are closed.

Ticket price 300,000 dong ($13).

Phan Thiet Water Tower

The 32-meter tower is unremarkable in appearance, but it is the symbol of the city of Phan Thiet. The most interesting thing about this tower is that it was designed by none other than the King of Laos, who also worked as the chief architect in the city of Phan Thiet.

The hieroglyphic ornaments on the upper tier of the tower are made of ceramic pieces

Previously, it served its intended purpose, but today it is only a decoration of the city, and inside it there is a warehouse made up of disused children's attractions from a park nearby.

Near the water tower we met such a cute girl in national Vietnamese dress. The Vietnamese are never averse to posing:

Ho Chi Minh City House Museum and the school where he taught

On the territory of Phan Thiet there is a house in which the Vietnamese leader of the people, Ho Chi Minh, once lived. The house is very modest, but a beautiful garden was laid out around it and a large museum of the leader was built next to it.

Ho Chi Minh City statue with students in front of the museum

We came during the lunch break (it lasts from 11:30 to 13:30), so we couldn’t get into the museum or into the house of Ho Chi Minh City, but the kind guards allowed us and other Vietnamese tourists to go for 5 minutes to the school where the Vietnamese leader worked teacher.

Friendship of peoples

School yard:

The Duc Thanh School, where Nguyen Tat Thanh (this is the real name of Ho Chi Minh City) taught at the time, is located across the street from the museum. The same interior that was in Ho Chi Minh City has been preserved here: desks, tables, benches.

Newspaper clippings about the activities of the Vietnamese leader are hung on the walls:

I especially liked the photo of Ho Chi Minh City reading a newspaper with portraits of Lenin and Stalin on the front page:

Whale Temple

The pagoda was built back in 1762.

It is called so because of the huge whale skeleton located in the main hall. The same skeleton, but slightly smaller, is located in. The length of the skeleton from the Whale Temple is 22 meters; during life it weighed 65 tons.

Why was a temple built in honor of this whale? According to one of the Vietnamese legends, this whale saved a fisherman drowning in the sea. And the Chams living on this land have always worshiped whales, which is why his skeleton, washed ashore, was immortalized.

Currently, whales are still highly respected in Vietnam. Whales in the South China Sea are not uncommon. It happens that they wash up on the shore. Then the dead animal is given a real funeral, with all honors. His body is buried in a huge hole, and a few years later the whale bones are removed from the grave and transferred to the temple. In the whale temple in Mui Ne we saw such a repository of whale bones:

By the way, the last whale stranding in Vietnam occurred in May 2017, right in Phan Thiet. Video from one of the bloggers living in Mui Ne from the site of the whale casting:

His bones will also replenish the temple warehouse in a couple of years. The previous beaching of a whale occurred in 2002.

Wine castle

A beautiful landmark of Mui Ne, located on the territory of the huge Sea Links City hotel complex. It was built in 2012 by the owners of Sea Links and was intended as a warehouse for barrels of wine imported from the United States (the owners of Sea Links also own Rang Dong Winery in Napa Valley in California).

Despite the fact that wine is not made in this castle, vineyards are planted on its territory for the surroundings.

There are excursions for tourists inside the castle: they talk about the process of wine production, and here you can see real wine cellars and conduct their tasting (the ticket price includes tasting of 4 varieties of wine, 30 ml each). There is also a restaurant and shops where you can buy a bottle of your favorite drink.

Entrance price to the territory of the wine castle - 100,000 dong ($4.5) for an adult. For children under 1.2 meters in height, admission is free.

Mount Taku and Reclining Buddha Statue

The mountain is located 30 km from Phan Thiet, at an altitude of 694 meters above sea level. You can climb the mountain by cable car on a funicular (which can already be considered a landmark of Mui Ne). The climb offers breathtaking views of the jungle, and the climb lasts 10 minutes.

On the mountain you will see the Linh Son Trong Pagoda and the largest reclining Buddha statue in Vietnam.

Entrance fee: complex ticket (cable car, entrance ticket up the mountain and an electric car through the temple complex) - 100,000 dong ($4.4).

Ke Ga Lighthouse

It is located 60 km from Mui Ne, so it is better to go here as part of an excursion (if available). Taking a taxi will be a bit expensive, and taking a bike will be very tiring, although both of these methods also have their place.

Previously, it was possible to climb 183 steps inside the lighthouse observation deck, but on at the moment The lighthouse is closed, tourists are not allowed there, so you can only admire it from the outside. Therefore, before traveling such a distance from Mui Ne, think about the feasibility of this.

Pitahaya (dragonfruit) plantations

I don’t know if this can be called a landmark, but in the vicinity of Phan Thiet there are quite a few huge fields with pitahaya growing on them (popularly referred to as dragon fruit or dragon eye). Usually they stop to look at them on the way from Phan Thiet to the Ke Ga lighthouse or Ta Cu mountain.

Suoi Cat park

The real name of the park is Suoi Cat park, but those who visited it forever immortalized another name - the Park of Freaks. And all because of strange sculptures that seem to resemble familiar characters from our favorite cartoons, but something is clearly wrong with them:

Many photos from an abandoned amusement park, as well as the story of why this park was forgotten in our special.

Bo que - seafood restaurants

As a model fishing village, Mui Ne is famous for its abundance of seafood. In the center of the town, a series of restaurants stretches along the sea; this area is called Bo Ke (Bờ kè). The place has already become legendary and popular among tourists.

In front of each establishment there are aquariums with marine life: scallops, mussels, oysters, shrimp, lobsters, lobsters, fish, seahorses, frogs, squids, crabs, etc.

You choose a victim, point with your finger, ask for the price, name the weight and wait at the table until the ready-made dishes are brought. Typically cooked on the grill, quite quickly. Average check per person - 100−150 thousand dong (350 rubles). Compared to Nha Trang, seafood prices are slightly overpriced.

Holidays in Mui Ne: what to expect from the resort

What does the resort look like?. If you are going on holiday to Mui Ne for the first time, it is important to know: Mui Ne is a fishing village on the cape where locals live. You will hardly see tourists there. Phan Thiet is a large city. But when they say that they are going on vacation to Mui Ne, they mean a multi-kilometer beach area between the fishing village and Phan Thiet. Its length is approximately 20 km. There is only one street along the coast, covered like shellfish with hotels and resorts, bokehs and restaurants, pharmacies and souvenir shops. This is where tourists live. In general, this is not a well-promoted resort with green, neat streets, but a tourist area cluttered with advertising and signs. Don't expect much.

Tourist opinions about Mui Ne. As in the case of Nha Trang, we put off visiting the resort for a long time due to the prevailing stereotype that it is a Russian ghetto. Reviews from tourists about holidays in Mui Ne are contradictory: from enthusiastic to devastating. We suspected the first of pursuing advertising purposes. These reviews were either paid for by hotels/travel agencies, or the people who wrote them lived in seclusion in a good resort and did not go beyond its boundaries - they paint a too rosy picture of a holiday at a resort. The latter are usually caused by a personal unpleasant history (robbed, deceived) or high expectations.

Why did we decide to visit Mui Ne? Here are some reasons:

  1. The main thing is the attractions, namely the dunes. I love the desert and cosmic landscapes.
  2. It was terribly interesting why the village is so stigmatized on the Internet and whether everything is really so bad - after all, with Nha Trang it turned out not to be as they said.
  3. I wanted to close the gestalt, because we have visited almost all corners of Vietnam, but this village has still not been honored with a visit.

Closed bokeh, access to the seashore (no beach here).

Weather in Mui Ne

We stayed at the resort for only five days in January 2018. The forecast promised rain, but it was just cloudy. At first I was upset - how can I do it? beautiful photos the famous red and white dunes in this weather? Then I realized that we were incredibly lucky with the weather: we would not have known all the charm of the Fairy Creek and the dunes under the scorching sun.

So, about the weather. Thanks to the sand dunes, its own microclimate has formed. There are no sudden cold snaps, heavy rains or storms with floods. The rainy season is from June to October, but showers occur mainly in the evening and do not last long. The average air temperature is +30°C, in winter about +27°C. The water temperature in summer is +27...+29°С, and in winter approximately +24°С. May and April are the hottest. Recreation is popular.

We read in tourist reviews about the weather in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet that in winter, due to the winds, it can be cool in the evenings. This is true, especially if you ride a bike in the evening. I was freezing and wore jeans with a shirt.

This is what the main street in Mui Ne looks like: countless cafes, bokehs, travel agencies.

How to get to Mui Ne

We traveled to Mui Ne from Ho Chi Minh City on a daytime slip bus. We chose the Hanh Cafe agency: they have departures even during the day, and not just at night, plus with their help. Sales agencies bus tickets there are many in Ho Chi Minh City - they are all lined up along Phạm Ngũ Lão Street. Choose any. Prices and departure times vary. We use Hanh Cafe and Sinh Tourist. Ticket price - from 110 thousand dong.

The bus passes through Phan Thiet and slowly drives along the beach, dropping off everyone along the way. The main thing is to show the name of the hotel to the driver or its location on the map.

What to see in Mui Ne

During our holiday in Mui Ne we visited several attractions:

Red Dunes. They are more orange or yellow-red, depending on the lighting. Tourists cluster on the few nearby dunes and mostly slide down on pieces of plastic. We went much further where there was no one. There was a feeling of complete isolation and calm. It is better to visit at sunset and in cloudy weather. It's very stuffy during the day.

Red dunes in Mui Ne. Plastic sledding is the main attraction here.

White Dunes. A very picturesque place, but tourists here are more active than on the red dunes - they ride ATVs, jeeps and pieces of plastic. Therefore there is noise and commotion. We again got away from people - it was wonderful. At sunset, sightseeing buses arrive. There are several lakes near the dunes. It seems that during the rainy season one of them is covered with blooming lotuses.

Picturesque white dunes near Mui Ne. Beautiful and unusual landscape.
On the white dunes, tourists ride ATVs and jeeps with the breeze.

Fairy Brook (Red Brook). Fairy Stream unexpectedly turned out to be a very impressive attraction! The landscapes are breathtaking, the place is soulful. We climbed up the sand into different gorges and looked at the stream from above, and also flew a drone - it was so beautiful there. In total we spent 4 hours in this place. You can get there both from the village and from the highway to Phan Thiet. The second entrance is good because it is clean, there are few tourists, entry is free, and the beauty of the places increases gradually. Parking - 5 thousand VND.

View from above of the fairy stream.
In addition to walking along the stream, you can climb the slopes of the canyon.

It has its own charm, but there is a lot of garbage. There were no people at all. It's unbearably hot during the day.

There are still a few attractions left in Mui Ne that we did not have time to see:

  • Cham towers. They look like the Po Nagar towers in Nha Trang.
  • Ke Ga Lighthouse.
  • Mount Taku 30 km from the village. The views from it are picturesque. At the top is a statue of the Reclining Buddha.

What are the prices in Mui Ne in 2019

Prices for food in cafes

Exchange rate: 10,000 Vietnamese dong (VND) ≈ 27 RUB.

We came here after Fukuoka, where the prices in the cafe were greatly inflated. Mui Ne seemed like a paradise for us in terms of food - everything was so cheap! In general, prices in the cafe are about the same as in Nha Trang.

Here are the prices for food using the example of the bokeh (seafood restaurant) Bo Ke Tho, where we dined every evening and tried almost the entire range:

Pros and cons of holidays in Mui Ne

Why do many Russians come here time after time? What attracts them? Let's see what tourists like and what they are dissatisfied with.

Pros of holidays in Mui Ne - 2019:

  • interesting sights;
  • delicious cheap seafood - there is hardly a place in the world where you can eat shellfish, shark, turtle and other marine life cheaper;
  • inexpensive food;
  • cheap kite and windsurfing lessons;
  • suitable weather conditions For active species sports;
  • good roads - pleasant to ride a bike;
  • there is almost no nightlife (for some this is a minus);
  • many excursions, including to other cities - for example, Dalat or Nha Trang;
  • for those who do not speak English, it’s good - almost everything is in Russian, some Vietnamese know the language.

If you live in a five-star resort and eat in expensive restaurants nearby, most likely you will not be affected by the resort's cons (except for rough seas, of course).

Beach in Mui Ne. Suitable for windsurfing only. Garbage and muddy water are not a “bounty” at all.

Cons:

  • unsuitable weather conditions for beach holiday;
  • garbage, dirt and unpleasant odors - the Vietnamese are not famous for cleanliness;
  • general devastation;
  • contingent;
  • an abundance of advertising and ugly signs (design is unheard of here) - some may consider it a trifle, but this greatly spoils the appearance of the resort;
  • long road from the airport;
  • beaches are cleaned only at expensive resorts;
  • locals are spoiled by tourists;
  • the tourist zone is very extended, and it’s difficult without a bike (especially since there are not sidewalks everywhere);
  • passages to the sea are either through wastelands and landfills, or through resorts - but they are unlikely to let you through.

About the sea and beaches. Some tourists write in reviews about nice beach and the gentle sea in Mui Ne. People, are you serious? We did not dare to enter this “gentle” sea. Maybe we were unlucky with the weather. And the beaches are cleaned only near the hotel; it’s better not to look outside this area.

About garbage. He's everywhere here. Along the roads, on the sidewalks, on the beach and in the sea, in vacant lots... But this is a problem throughout Vietnam.

About nightlife. We don't like bars, clubs, discos and generally crowds of people, especially drunk people. Therefore, we cannot say anything on this point. According to tourists, all nightlife is concentrated in the establishments of Dragon Beach, Sankara and Line Up Bar and Grill.

About the appearance of the resort. When we passed the village on a slipbus, we were blinded by neon colors. One gets an unpleasant impression from all these signs with a design from the 90s with inscriptions in Russian: “Dima Tours”, “Uzbek”, “Pharmacy”, etc. Have we arrived in Vietnam or where? Why spoil the resort like this?

This beach is located north of the village of Mui Ne; you need to go here by bike. It is spacious and quite clean, but the winds blow strong here.

Our impression and review of the holiday in Mui Ne

So, we think that it’s worth going to Mui Ne just for the sights, delicious inexpensive seafood and active recreation. That's all. We are sincerely perplexed why beach lovers (especially those with children) go to places where the wind is always blowing, dirty beaches and an unswimmable sea. For the same money you can, where there are beaches and the sea, or. And even better - . But if you like Mui Ne, then go for it.

  • Tours for May all over the world
  • Last minute tours all over the world

Northeast of Phan Thiet, beyond the scenic coastal road that climbs the hill to the ancient Cham Tower, lies a long sandy beach, washed by the waters of Mui Ne Bay. Having been a quiet and endangered fishing village 15-20 years ago, today the beach and town of Mui Ne have turned into a popular developing resort where lovers flock warm sea, bright sun and fair wind. Moreover, there are so many Russian speakers among them that you can increasingly hear the village being called by its native name - simply “Muinovka”.

Choosing between the Red Sea (or rather the Egyptian Dahab) and the South China Sea (in the right corner of the ring is the village of Mui Ne!), domestic kite and windsurfers are increasingly inclined to favor the latter. Despite the fact that fishermen still live in the east of the beach, the majority of the population of Mui Ne are tourists, whom, however, the locals do not like - the guests of the village are too aggressive in “seizing” the territory. And all because the prices here are very affordable, seafood is plentiful, people are allowed into the country without a visa, and the climate allows you to ride almost all year round.

How to get to Mui Ne

Mui Ne is a small resort village on the shores of the South China Sea. There is no airport either in the town itself or in neighboring Phan Thiet, and you can only get here from Russia by air. The route runs through the two closest airports - in Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. Both of them accept flights from many major cities- Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk and others. Most routes with two connections are in Guangzhou, Wuhan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Hanoi and Shanghai.

China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways and others fly from Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo to Vietnam. The only direct route Moscow - Ho Chi Minh City without transfers is from Aeroflot; flights are not daily. Prices start from 675 USD in both directions, travel time is about 10 hours. The cheapest flights are offered by Chinese and Arab carriers - from 600 USD, the journey takes from 15 hours to 1.5 days. Prices on the page are as of September 2018.

You can get from the Northern capital by planes of Aeroflot, Es Seven, Turkish Airlines", "Emirates" and other companies. Ticket prices start from 1000 USD; the journey will take about 20 hours. The fastest route from Emirates is 19 hours, the flight will cost 752 USD.

From airport to city

Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat air gate is half an hour's drive from the bus station from which intercity slipbuses depart. It’s easier and faster to go by taxi - about 200,000 VND. Transportation is carried out by the Futa Bus Line company (office site in English). Flights to Mui Ne run 15 times a day, the journey will take another 4-6 hours, the fare costs 110,000-140,000 VND.

Search for flights to Ho Chi Minh City (closest airport to Mui Ne)

Transport

The territory of Mui Ne is quite small, but it is better to use public transport- It takes a long time to walk from one end of the village to the other. One bus runs through the entire resort and further to Phan Thiet. The stops are located on the main and only street along which almost all hotels are located. Ticket price - 13,000 VND.

To travel to attractions, it is better to take a taxi. Travel is inexpensive - a standard trip will cost VND 170,000. Although many cars are equipped with meters, it is worth agreeing on the price in advance. Taxis can be ordered by phone or stopped on the street. Most of the cars are new, with air conditioning and other amenities. Motorcycle taxis are widespread in Mui Ne. The fare is even lower - 10,000 VND per km during the day, 15,000-20,000 VND per km at night. It may not always be convenient, but it is faster than by car. For those who are afraid of driving at high speed, it is better to tell the driver about this - he will drive slower.

There should be no problems with communication - in Mui Ne many speak English and even Russian.

It is convenient to explore the resort and its surroundings by bicycle - the roads are not bad, the terrain is flat. You can rent transport at many hotels or rental offices opposite them. Prices are moderate - about 60,000 VND per day.

Car rental

Only experienced drivers should rent a car in Mui Ne - the road situation is tense, many locals do not follow the rules, so driving here is quite dangerous. In a small resort village there is nowhere to go, if you don’t plan long trips, you can get by with buses and taxis. However, those who come for a long time and do not want to sit in one place should rent a car and go to neighboring regions.

There are no serious traffic jams in Mui Ne itself; in larger cities, traffic congestion is not uncommon. Many hotels and restaurants have free parking; parking near attractions is paid, but the price is purely symbolic - from 5,000 VND.

To rent a car, you will need a Vietnamese driver's license. Tourists can also get it, but it will take about a week to complete the paperwork.

The choice of rental offices is greater in large cities; it is better to rent a car in Ho Chi Minh City or Nha Trang. Only small local firms operate in Mui Ne. Prices for renting an economy class car per day range from VND 550,000 to VND 1,100,000.

Communications and Wi-Fi

Mobile communications in Mui Ne are quite cheap; upon arrival, it is better to immediately get a SIM card from a Vietnamese operator - this will help you save a lot on calls home. There are three main companies in the country - Vinaphone, Viettel and Mobifone. Their tariffs are almost the same; coverage in large cities and resort areas is consistently good for all three. A call to Russia will cost approximately 3600-5000 VND per minute, SMS is even less - 200 VND. There are no special tourist tariff plans, but they are not required. Packages are sold at many retail outlets, and the balance is topped up there. Prices range from 70,000 to 130,000 VND.

There is no roaming within the country, the tariff plan can be purchased in Ho Chi Minh City or Nha Trang, the same prices will apply in Mui Ne.

Wireless Internet access points are equipped in most hotels and public catering establishments. But the quality of the connection sometimes leaves much to be desired. In this case, it is better to buy a traffic package from your local mobile operator. The prices are the same - from 70,000 VND for 600 MB to 200,000 VND for 3000 MB.

Mui Ne is one large beach along which a resort village stretches. The sea and the shore are not equally clean and suitable for swimming everywhere. In the east behind the cape the waves are strongest and this is one of the best places for kite and windsurfing. It is inconvenient to swim there with children - strong winds and very muddy water.

In the central part of the resort, where inexpensive middle-class hotels are concentrated, the strip of shore reserved for the beach is quite narrow. They don't pay much attention to cleanliness, so it can be dirty, especially closer to the fishing village.

The coastline in the western part of the resort, closer to Phan Thiet, looks a little better. The most expensive hotels are located here, the owners of which keep their beaches clean and tidy. Umbrellas and sunbeds are installed everywhere; they belong to the hotels, and only guests can use them, but for free. But anyone can swim in clean and clear water and stretch out on the sand. Thanks to the breakwaters, the sea here is calmer than in other parts of the resort. This is the best place in Mui Ne for families with children. The entrance to the water is gentle along the entire coast; to get to the depths, you need to move far from the shore. But due to the waves, swimming with kids in the center of Mui Ne can be quite dangerous.

Kite and surfing

There is absolutely no diving or snorkeling in Mui Ne, but there is something more interesting: when there is heavy rain in Nha Trang or Hoi An, there are only waves. But which waves are the most correct, strong, extended, on which you can not only learn, but also practice professional tricks. The best time for surfing is from August to December, for windsurfing - from late October to late April. At the same time, the winds blow steadily from 11:00 until almost sunset, in some places the waves rise to 4 m and higher. Best place for surfing and kite - western part resort. In the eastern part there are breakwaters everywhere.

The surrounding waters of Mui Ne do not contain any “sneaky spots” in the form of underwater rocks or shallows, so skiing here is as safe as possible. However, during the peak season, kiters take to the water, up to 300 muscular bodies at a time, so you need to keep your eyes peeled. It is also worth paying special attention to ordinary swimmers - these bipeds frolicking in the water create a separate problem for the keen surfer.

You can rent equipment in many stores and hotels, and ask an instructor there. His services will cost a lot: from 1,350,000 VND for the first lesson (the second and subsequent ones will cost less - from 1,050,000 VND). A lesson lasts on average 2-3 hours. Sports equipment is available for rent at any school - from 140,000 VND per hour for a surfboard.

Mui Ne Hotels

Regardless of the cost of living, all Mui Ne hotels are located on the first coastline, 5 minutes walk from the sea. The price difference speaks not only about the range of options, but also about the quality of the hotel beach. Cheap options should be looked for closer to Cape Mui Ne, and expensive and fashionable ones - closer to Phan Thiet.

The most common type of accommodation in the village is resort hotels; most of them include breakfast in the price, free parking and Wi-Fi. For those who do not want to swim in the sea, many, even the cheapest ones, have swimming pools with sun loungers and umbrellas. The cost of rooms in hotels without stars and with 1* starts from 300,000 VND, cheaper only in shared rooms of hostels - from 50,000 VND per bed.

You can stay in a 2-3* hotel in the central part of the resort for 400,000-3,000,000 VND. In the west there are many higher class hotels - 4-5*. The price range is quite large - from 1,000,000 VND to 6,000,000 VND. There are also several guest houses and villas - from VND 200,000 for a double room to VND 5,000,000 for a cottage for 11 people.

What to bring

The main street is full of shops and souvenir shops. Their prices are low and the range is decent. Most often with Vietnamese resort they take away edible gifts - Mui Ne is famous for its fish delicacies and seafood.

Ladies will appreciate pearl products, as well as crocodile leather bags, shoes and belts. These are not the cheapest souvenirs, but the quality is beyond doubt. For clothes, it is better to visit neighboring Phan Thiet - supermarkets sell dresses and T-shirts made from natural fabrics at affordable prices. For the famous Vietnamese silk, it is also worth going to more major cities, for example, in Dalat. The choice in Mui Ne stores is very small. Traditional Vietnamese costumes can be bought at the market or ordered individually tailored in a studio. Other popular gifts from Mui Ne are coconut oil and snake venom based ointments, which are great for bruises and sprains. Oils are available in any store, but for cream it is better to go to the pharmacy.

Souvenir shops are located near the main attractions - on Mount Taku and near the Chap Tap Poshanu towers. They sell funny little things and handmade jewelry, magnets and keychains.

Mui Ne cuisine and restaurants

The choice of catering establishments in Mui Ne is quite large. Even those who didn't like it Vietnamese cuisine, there is something to profit from. The town is full of restaurants serving American, French, Italian and Indian cuisine. There are also Russian eateries here, the menu of which will seem familiar and familiar at home. However, it is still worth trying local dishes - most of those who have visited Vietnam at least once leave rave reviews about them. In addition, there are few places where you can try grilled shark or crocodile soup for lunch.

Another advantage of Vietnamese restaurants is low prices. Dinner at a French or Italian establishment will cost more due to imported products. However, seafood delicacies and exotic dishes also cost a lot.

Most cafes and restaurants are located along Mui Ne's only street. There are quite respectable establishments, standard cafes and simple eateries. As well as traditional Vietnamese “phosnits” - canteens that serve classic “pho” soup. The latter can be very tasty and cheap, but it’s somehow scary to go into them - compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards and the quality of the products are questionable.

Food prices at the resort are very reasonable. A full, no-frills meal in a mid-range restaurant costs VND 300,000. You can have breakfast or a snack in a cafe for 150,000-200,000 VND. Those who decide to try shark barbecue for dinner at an expensive restaurant need to be prepared to shell out at least VND 1,000,000 for two.

Entertainment and attractions

The distinctive features of the Vietnamese resort are excellent beaches, good climate and a good selection of restaurants. However, there are several attractions here that are definitely worth seeing.

There are few interesting places near Mui Ne from a historical point of view. The main one is the Chamov Tap Poshanu towers. In the past, the majestic temple of the god Shiva, today is the ruins of an ancient shrine, which has remained in this state for the last 300 years. Despite this, the Vietnamese still bring gifts to the foot of the towers and pray for good luck or a good catch. If you're lucky, you can not only touch antiquity, but also witness a religious event or a national festival. Temple complex stands on a hill from where it opens beautiful view to the resort village and neighboring Phan Thiet.

On the way to the towers you can stop by a bright oriental-style temple. It is visible from the road, so it is impossible to miss.

60 km from Mui Ne there is another religious attraction - the statue of the reclining Buddha on Mount Taku. Now it leads there cable car, previously pilgrims and a few tourists were forced to climb on foot. This is the largest monument in Vietnam, and Buddhists can be found here quite often.

In a sense, a unique attraction is a fishing village on the outskirts of Mui Ne. Once upon a time, the entire village lived from this trade, until tourism began to develop here. Now, to look at the life of fishermen, you need to go to a small village in the east of the resort. There is an observation deck from which you can watch a rather interesting sight - dozens of blue and greenish boats plying the surface of the sea not far from the shore. It looks especially unusual in the rays of the setting sun. If desired, local residents will help organize fishing trips and grill freshly caught fish.

Among the natural beauties in the vicinity of Mui Ne, red and white dunes, lotus lake (impressive when they are in bloom), Fairy Stream and Red Canyon deserve attention. The latter is especially beautiful closer to the sea, and in the deserts you can ride ATVs or sleds.

3 things to do in Mui Ne

  1. Stand on the board and catch a wave.
  2. Learn to cook crocodile meat on coals and cook turtle soup.
  3. Go fishing and catch a squid.

Weather in Mui Ne

The climate of Mui Ne is tropical, there is no cold weather, the winter season differs from the summer season only in the amount of precipitation. This is one of the sunniest corners of Vietnam; the air and water temperatures allow swimming all year round.

The best time for kite and windsurfing is from November to March. In other months there is also wind and strong waves, but they are unstable. It is better for beginners to go out to sea in the morning; only experienced athletes can cope with the elements in the afternoon. Those who do not plan to conquer the wave should choose the end of spring or beginning of autumn for their vacation. In summer there are rains here quite often, but they are short-lived and hardly interfere with rest.

Phan Thiet (Mui Ne) is a South Vietnamese resort, which is located on the shores of the South China Sea, which is 200 km from the capital of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). The population of the city itself is only 350 thousand people. Very often, when the resort of Phan Thiet Vietnam is mentioned, they mean Mui Ne. Tourist resort Mui Ne is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Vietnam, it is not only a resort, but also a cape, and partly a peninsula, and the name of the city. Mui Ne Beach is located 22 km from the city of Phan Thiet and is essentially a small fishing village. Resort place are not the cities of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne themselves, but the coastal area between these two cities, the so-called Mui Ne Beach.

Mui Ne has a very funny story. There used to be a small fishing village here. The wind constantly blows from the neighboring desert, so kitesurfers and windsurfers settled in this place 15 years ago. The village is overgrown with hotels and restaurants. And everything was good and cool, a youth party of surfers. But then they heard about Mui Ne in Russia and now hundreds of package tourists are going to hotels on the seashore in Mui Ne. The Vietnamese quickly caught on to the trick, learned a couple of Russian words, and now Mui Ne is the tourist capital of Vietnam.
But there is one peculiarity among Russian people: they do not like national identity and do not want to integrate into the local culture. Instead, they prefer to create their own community of Russian speakers and stick to it. And this attracts even more Russian speakers who want to earn extra money in Asia, serving other Russian tourists. As a result, all foreigners are simply blown away by such places because they don’t understand how Southeast Asia"Asian Rus'" appeared. This has its own specifics: citizens of “Asian Rus'” live as visarans and hide their work from the migration service; for many, the tourist season is a season of increased workload; the rest of the time they can master water sports and diving, receive a certificate in order to serve a new batch of Russian tourists as an instructor. The crisis in Russia has led to a reduction in the number of people working remotely, but it has also increased the number of people wanting to earn dollars by working as a guide, tour guide, instructor, photographer, etc.

Phan Thiet, aka Mui Ne, as you understand, is very popular among Russian tourists. Restaurants on the coast have Russian menus, staff in hotels and street shops speak some Russian, you can see signs in Russian on the streets, and agencies sell Russian-language excursions. In a resort town Mui Ne you can even see broadcasts of Russian-language films in restaurants. The tourist area is located along the entire Mui Ne Beach, and hotels are located right on the beach.

When leaving the hotel, you will immediately see the snow-white mui ne beach. Beach Phan Thiet Mui Ne is public, each hotel has its own beach area, but it is not fenced, it is not forbidden to relax in any place you like. On Mui Ne beach developed infrastructure for tourists, but nightlife in the area Mui Ne practically none. On the beach Mui Ne you can find a huge number of establishments: the local bar street with many cafes, bars, restaurants and massage parlors, and a little away from Mui Ne beach, You can visit natural, historical and cultural attractions. On the beach Mui Ne There is everything for lovers of surfing and other water sports, and for lovers of land sports, there is, for example, a golf course. Phan Thiet Mui Ne photo:

Mui Ne attractions on the map

What to visit in Vietnam Mui Ne? Phan Thiet, also known as Mui Ne, attracts surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers from all over the world. Phan Thiet-Mui Ne resorts are considered, compared to others in Asia, to be very attractive for sports, and some consider them the best. The most popular, famous and promoted resort in Vietnam is Nha Trang, while Phan Thiet is only slightly inferior to it. Many tourists are faced with a difficult choice: what to choose, Nha Trang or Mui Ne Phan Thiet, while the first is more interesting for lovers of nightlife and entertainment than the second. Nha Trang is a large city in which hotels are located right within the city on the beach area, while in Phan Thiet Mui Ne the beach is located some distance from big city, which, of course, is a big plus. In Phan Thiet more tourists and more young people who come here in search of best place for surfing. Nha Trang is a resort city, and Phan Thiet, on the contrary, is a resort on the seashore. To decide for yourself which Vietnam resort you prefer, study the reviews about Nha Trang and Phan Thiet, and you will certainly find what you like. You can go on holiday to southern Vietnam all year round; the tourist season here never ends. The so-called “high season” in Nha Trang and Phan Thiet lasts from November to April, and during the Vietnamese New Year (in February) all the hotels and beaches are crowded with the Vietnamese themselves.

Phan Thiet weather now

Phan Thiet is one of the most popular resorts Vietnam

The correct name of the resort is Phan Thiet, but due to some inconvenience in pronunciation, Phan Thiet has “taken root” in the Russian segment of the Internet (sometimes you can find the variant Phan Thiet). But our travelers, who recently discovered this tourist destination, are of little interest in such grammatical subtleties, because the main thing here is the sun, sea and beaches, on which correct pronunciation certainly does not affect in any way. They delight tourists all year round, and the conditions for recreation, including active ones, are created here with the most optimal conditions, practically not inferior to other popular resorts.

Phan Thiet, with a population of 350,000, is not only a tourist center, but also an administrative center; it is the capital of Binh Thuan province. The city, divided into 18 communes, is located 200 km from Ho Chi Minh City, so many travelers, despite this distance, albeit not too great, combine holidays local beaches with an excursion trip to the former Saigon. There are not many attractions at the resort itself, but they are original in their own way, they are distinguished by a truly Asian flavor, and domestic tourists are happy to get acquainted with them, study them carefully and take photographs as a souvenir.

Phan Thiet is a great place not only for beach leisure, but also for water sports. There are also numerous shops where you can buy souvenirs. As the sun sets, nightlife begins. In Phan Thiet it does not have the same scope as in large resort towns, but you are guaranteed a great mood. And the hospitable Vietnamese are happy to treat tourists to national seafood dishes. In a word, a vacation spent here, even if it turns out to be short, will saturate every vacationer with energy, health, vivid emotions and unforgettable impressions for the whole year ahead!

Geographical features and climate

The Sa Tu River flows through Phan Thiet and flows into the sea. It divides it into two districts. Connects the shores cable-stayed bridge, which is called Chan Hung Dao. In general, the local coastal landscape is characterized by two types of relief. The first is distinguished by the presence of sand dunes and beaches, the second is characterized by plains, a narrow strip stretching along the rivers. More elevated areas are slightly less common.

The main and undoubted advantage of Phan Thiet is its unique microclimate, favorable for recreation. There is no rainy season in the classical sense here. For comparison: while the central regions of Vietnam in August-February are literally flooded with tropical downpours, often accompanied by typhoons, the south of the country, to which Phan Thiet belongs, is warmed by the gentle sun all year round. Of course, there is no precipitation either (after all, this is not the Sahara Desert), but it occurs only in July-August. The rains are short, no more than two or three times a week.

The air temperature rarely drops below 20 degrees plus. The average monthly temperature is +27…+33 °C. Humidity levels vary between 79-81%. The water warms up to +26…+28 degrees. The best time November-March is considered the best time to visit Phan Thiet. April is the most hot month at the resort, and this circumstance should be taken into account by those who cannot tolerate heat and high humidity, especially due to health problems. The heat subsides somewhat only during the rainy season.

History of Phan Thiet

Phan Thiet geographically belongs to an area that in the Middle Ages belonged to the Hindu kingdom of Champa (or Champa), which united 15 principalities. Subsequently, Viet troops invaded here from the north, and when this area was captured by the latter in 1692, King Nguyen Phuc Chu gave it the name Binh Thuan Dinh.

The Nguyen Dynasty ruled the South Vietnamese lands during the era of the revived Le Dynasty, until 1777. During this period, clashes took place here with the armed forces of the Teishon dynasty. With the founding of the colony of French Indochina in October 1887, which included the territory of modern Vietnam, economic growth began. However, he bypassed Phan Thiet. Even at the beginning of the 20th century, when neighboring Nha Trang had already begun to become famous as seaside resort, it still remained a small and inconspicuous town.

Before he left for the metropolis, that is, France, the founder of the local Communist Party and the first president of independent Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, worked in Phan Thiet. At that time, the future leader of the August Revolution of 1945 against the French and Japanese occupiers was still a simple school teacher who taught Chinese along with his native language. And during the Vietnam War, during the period of full-scale US intervention in the conflict (1965-1973), an American air force base was stationed in Phan Thiet. Nowadays there is an old abandoned airfield on this site; the authorities are considering the possibility of building a passenger airport here.

The history of Phan Thiet as a world-famous resort began relatively recently, twenty years ago. Interestingly, the starting point of this new stage in its development was... a total solar eclipse, which attracted everyone's attention. On December 24, 1995, thousands of Vietnamese, including tourists, came here to see this unique natural phenomenon. In the same year, the first hotel was built in the city, where windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts settled. They appreciated the opportunities that Phan Thiet has for water sports and began to advertise them everywhere, as they say. The flow of vacationers was not long in coming...

Sights of Phan Thiet

Phan Thiet, located near the picturesque sea coast, has long attracted the attention of numerous travelers who spend hours walking along its streets, and these walks in no way get boring - rather, on the contrary. They generate even more interest in local history and related attractions. We will not exaggerate if we say that ancient city cannot leave anyone indifferent.

The signature feature of Phan Thiet is the local water tower, built in 1934 as a water storage reservoir. For its intended purpose, it served for no less than half a century. The height of the structure, which these days looks more like a fortress with a flag, is more than 30 meters, which corresponds to the “growth” of a seven-story building. There is nothing inside the water tower, surrounded by majestic palm trees and original stone paths. True, at one time there was a museum here. Due to its dimensions, it often serves as a landmark for lost tourists. Foreigners really like to take pictures next to her - like with Eiffel Tower in Paris or Big Ben in London.

One of the most famous ancient monuments in Phan Thiet is the Cham Towers. This is a complex of three buildings built in the 7th century. Two of them are solid, meaning there is no way to get inside. But you can get into the third, hollow one, which is what curious tourists take advantage of, studying it from the inside with interest. The towers in the past were part of larger buildings that symbolized the power of the Cham Empire, which existed on the territory of Vietnam in the early Middle Ages, but the latter have not survived to this day.

Another favorite place for tourists is Mount Taku, not far from which there is a statue of the Reclining Buddha. The mountain is not high, just under 700 meters, and is often used as a natural observation deck, which offers stunning views of the surrounding area of Phan Thiet. You can climb Taku either on foot or by cable car, which is an attraction in itself. The 49-meter Reclining Buddha can be seen very clearly from here (its statue, by the way, is the largest in the country). After exploring the surrounding area, you can indulge in gluttony - in the best sense of the word: right on the top of the mountain there is a restaurant where you can relax and have a snack after an exciting excursion.

If you want to get to know the local nature better, then welcome to Fairy Creek - one of the main attractions of Phan Thiet and all of Vietnam. Locals They call it “red stream” or “magic river”. This small, let's say, body of water can be easily forded, since it is mostly shallow. Walk in these picturesque places- a pleasure! The nature here is incredibly beautiful, the surroundings are quiet and calm, because the stream is located far from all the “noises” of civilization. Walking along the shore, you will see some kind of waterfall, from which the stream, in fact, begins.

Phan Thiet boasts its own Fish Sauce Factory, which has existed for more than half a century and produces products of the highest quality and is world famous. The workers of the enterprise have in their arsenal only a special concrete barrel in which the process of grinding raw materials, that is, fish, takes place. The second stage is exposure of the resulting mass under the open sun, which lasts for quite a long time. Then it is processed, turning it into that same sauce. The sanitary conditions here, frankly speaking, are not the most optimal, and the stale fishy smell does not create a feast for the sense of smell, but tourists are drawn to the factory in Phan Thiet like a magnet.

During the tour, experts will tell you about ancient technologies for making fish sauce and even show them in action. You can also taste the product itself. It turns out that it comes in different varieties, also differing in aging time. Fishermen, many of whom have been working here for ten years, are happy to share the secrets of good fishing with tourists. They are often asked how fresh the fish that goes into production is? Answer: only the latest! There is no doubt about this, since the Fish Sauce Factory is located right on the ocean.

Fisherman's Harbour, also a landmark of Phan Thiet, is no different in sanitary conditions. There are a lot of boats and rafts here, and since it is quite large - 5 km long, there are quite a few large ships used for transporting catch. Vacationers love to visit this place for several reasons. Firstly, here you can buy the freshest fish at a low price. Secondly (this applies more to romantics), there is an excellent sunrise on the harbor. And, of course, many people want to take great photos as a souvenir of their trip to Phan Thiet and chat with the sailors who are happy to tell interesting stories from life.

Everyone has heard about lighthouses, but the Ke Ga lighthouse is special among them, you won’t see one like it anywhere else. This is a real work of art! Located on an island with picturesque nature, it proudly rises above the surrounding area, having long been a favorite of travelers. Getting to this 60-meter-long colossus is not difficult: it is separated from the mainland by a short distance, and fishermen will quickly take you there. The lighthouse is clearly visible from the shore, delighting with its unusual architectural design for Asia. On a tour of the attraction, the caretaker will invite you to climb to the very top, from which unique seascapes open up, which you can enjoy endlessly.

Come to Phan Thiet and not see famous Lake lotuses? Be sure to visit this romantic place. There are actually three lakes, the names of which can be translated from Vietnamese as “male”, “female” and “mango”. All together they, including small lakes and ponds around, form a whole conglomeration. Lovers often come here to admire the blooming lotuses and just take a walk - especially in the evening, at sunset, indulging in their brightest dreams. Just don’t even risk swimming. Water treatments in the Lotus Lake are fraught with risks due to the fact that there are a lot of algae here, in which it is easy to get entangled and you may not get out.

Another attraction of Phan Thiet is the pitaya (or pitahaya) plantations. Most often they are located along country roads leading to villages. This plant is inconspicuous in appearance, resembling a cactus. Many people do not even know that it produces fruits that are delicious in taste and have the common English name dragon fruit. In Russian-language media, pitaya is sometimes called “dragonfruit”. Local gardeners specially cultivate it and can tell you a lot about how to properly care for this rather whimsical plant.

Beaches and entertainment

Phan Thiet is not only and not so much attractions as it is magnificent beaches. It was they who earned him worldwide fame. The most famous beach is located northeast of the city. It is called Mui Ne, and it is washed by the waters of the bay of the same name. Just imagine: the beach area with clean and fine sand stretches for as much as 15 kilometers! Strictly speaking, Mui Ne is an ordinary fishing village, and when it comes to beaches, we mean the stretch of coastline between it and Phan Thiet. It has its own name: Mui Ne Beach. This is where all the infrastructure is concentrated: expensive hotels and budget guesthouses, cafes and shops. The peculiarity of these places is that when in neighboring Nha Trang or another famous resort– Hoi An – the rainy season is raging, here the sea responds to it only by raising waves, onto which windsurfers immediately jump.

The local beaches are well equipped: there are sun loungers, you can rent boards and kites for surfing and kiting. As for the quality of Phan Thiet's beaches, some believe that it leaves much to be desired, while others claim that they are magnificent in their snow-whiteness. The truth, as usual, is in the middle: the sand cannot be called completely white, and it is also very fine - like flour. The weather sometimes likes to play tricks: the wind raises waves, and they, in turn, carry various debris to the coast. Another disadvantage is the lack of palm trees near the water, as in many “promoted” resorts. However, there are still more advantages here, and the main one is the best conditions for practicing water sports.

Golf is also a popular pastime in Phan Thiet. Fans of this exciting game gather at the Ocean Dunes Golf Club, which has 72 routes and 18 holes. Well, in the evening, not only fans of active sports, but also all tourists have the opportunity to plunge into nightlife Phan Thiet. There are several nightclubs and bars at your service where you can listen to both electronic and live music. To name a few of these establishments, they are Wax Bar and Dragon Beach (the first is on the beach, the second has access to the beach), DJ Station, Show Club and Ocean Repyblic.

Shopping in Phan Thiet

Nightlife in Phan Thiet, as we said above, is devoid of the dose of adrenaline that travelers are accustomed to in Western capitals Therefore, shopping remains one of the most favorite pastimes of tourists. Here, as throughout Vietnam, you can purchase consumer goods at the most low prices. Phan Thiet offers a large selection of clothing and shoes. The attention of Russians is often focused on local textile products: products made from natural silk are truly exclusive! The widest range of fabrics and products made from this material can be found in local markets, where prices are lower than in stores.

On the main street of the resort, Nguyen Dinh Hieu, which runs parallel to the sea, you will find many shops and souvenir shops. There are also cafes, restaurants, bars and stalls where lively sellers vie with each other to offer exotic goods, such as mangosteens, pitaya fruits, longan and such a specific fruit as durian. Its smell is so disgusting that in public places in Phan Thiet you can see special signs prohibiting entry into premises with these hedgehog-like fruits. But if you get over their “aroma” and taste the pulp, you immediately begin to understand where the expression “king of fruits” came from. Its taste is simply divine!

What souvenir from Phan Thiet do you think would be the most recognizable in Russia? Of course, the famous flip-flops. These shoes are presented in huge quantities in markets and souvenir shops. The main thing is to remember to try it on before purchasing, since local sizing charts differ from Russian ones. But perhaps the most unusual purchase could be a product made from real crocodile skin: handbags, wallets or belts. Prices for goods made from this natural material are quite high and ordinary Vietnamese often cannot afford them, but our tourists buy them. And not because Russians are very rich. The point is that crocodile skin(including snake) in socialist Vietnam is two to three times cheaper than in Russia.

From Phan Thiet, travelers also bring tea and coffee, rum and other alcoholic drinks, as well as high-quality sun protection products (creams and sprays), which can be useful at home, so as not to get sunburned under the scorching rays, for example, in the summer at the dacha. We also recommend checking out Phan Thiet's pharmacies, where you will find various ointments and herbal remedies. Particularly popular is the Cobratox ointment, which contains cobra venom and is excellent for helping with osteochondrosis and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system. You certainly can’t buy this in a regular Russian pharmacy.

Phan Thiet also has its own large supermarket “SOOR Mart”, which Russian tourists jokingly called "USSR". On the first floor there is a product line, household goods, hygiene products, cosmetics, on the second - basic necessities, clothing, shoes. It’s worth taking a look at the children’s department: in the assortment you will find high-quality and inexpensive things for children.

If you have bought so much that you cannot carry it away, then it is better to use a taxi. Catching your favorite car in the city is not a problem; it is also easy to recognize, it is white and green. When getting into a taxi, make sure that the driver turns on the meter. The landing fee is 10 thousand Vietnamese dong, which is equivalent to approximately 28 Russian rubles.

Phan Thiet Hotels

Numerous hotels where vacationers stay are scattered along the entire coast, starting from Phan Thiet and all the way to the Mui Ne Peninsula. For the most part local hotels, which are entire complexes with well-groomed grounds and a high level of service, offer tourists accommodation in villas or bungalows. Each hotel has its own beach, where sun loungers and umbrellas are provided to vacationers completely free of charge.

One of the very first hotels built at the resort is the four-star Victoria Resort, which offers SPA services to its guests. Those who want to save on accommodation can choose hotels with three stars - for example, Bamboo Village, Swiss Village, Palmira Resort or The Beach. They are small, but their location is good, and the service is good.

How to get there

The resort town of Phan Thiet does not have its own air harbor, so from Moscow you can only fly to the airports of neighboring Nha Trang or Ho Chi Minh City. Travel time is about ten hours.

Tourists traveling independently most often fly to Ho Chi Minh City and from there get to Nha Trang by land transport. From the former Saigon you can travel directly to Phan Thiet. By taxi, a distance of 200 km is covered in 4-5 hours, the trip will cost $80. To save money, tourists travel in groups, dividing the cost among everyone.

A bus trip on the Ho Chi Minh City-Phan Thiet route will cost much less, from 6 to 8 dollars per person, the travel time is approximately six hours. Since the resort has its own railway station (located on the outskirts of the city), many prefer the train: departure from Ho Chi Minh City at 6:55 and 16:45.

Tour operators usually offer this route: first by plane to Nha Trang, and then a free transfer to Phan Thiet.
