There are many historical, cultural and natural sights in Krasnaya Polyana that every self-respecting tourist should definitely visit. Writers and public figures of the Soviet Union once loved to spend all their free time here, celebrities were treated and residents of the vast country from different parts of it simply came to admire the picturesque nature. Today we will talk about what you can see in Krasnaya Polyana, we will talk a little about some of its attractions.

Perhaps the oldest attraction, the creation of which the ancient settlers put their hands on, are dolmens. These are unusual stone structures in the form of wells or dugouts, which consist of multi-ton slabs and rocky sculptures. By the way, scientists have not yet come to an unambiguous conclusion regarding the purpose of unusual structures. Krasnaya Polyana dolmens are located in the Krestenyukov tract, which is not so easy to get to. Experienced guides offer to combine visiting stone buildings with hiking in the mountains. If you are only planning to visit this monument ancient civilization, go to the bus stop on Zapovednaya street. From it you will need to walk about 3.5 km along a dirt path, and then turn off and walk about another kilometer to the forest.

House-Museum of A. H. Tammsaare

All admirers of the Estonian writer's work should visit this place. The museum is located in the village of Esto-Sadok and tells not only about the writer's work, but also about many domestic literary and cultural figures of the last century. Of genuine interest is the very design of the house-museum, which, with its atmosphere, seems to immerse everyone who entered that era, makes you think about many things. Here, rare photographs of long-standing events are posted everywhere, including those that told about some events in the life of immigrants. You can find the museum on Estonian Street, where it occupies house number 35. Visitors are welcome here from Friday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.

Imperial hunting palace

Especially for Nicholas II, a hunting house was designed at a height of more than a kilometer above the sea. Although outwardly the house does not resemble a breathtaking imperial residence and does not hint at the fact that Nicholas II spent a lot of time here, it still arouses a certain interest from tourists. The three-story building in the style of a British villa was created in just a couple of years. Near the house there were other buildings designed for hunting and preparing for it - the house of rangers, buildings for guards, a wall for protection. The groves located in the vicinity were declared forbidden, were protected and only members of the royal family had the right to hunt in them.

Unfortunately, order on the territory of the hunting house was maintained only in Soviet times. As soon as the property was transferred to private hands, the palace and other buildings were ruined and abandoned. Only in 2013, restoration work began and tourists got the opportunity to visit another interesting historical site in Krasnaya Polyana. If you are planning a hike without a guide, your route will run through the recreation center of the same name. From the sanatorium you will need to climb the hill and follow the signs. No transport goes to the house, there is no road, so you should rely only on your own strength.

Museum of Local Lore

The initiator of the creation of the museum of the native land "Krasnaya Polyana" was the historian and local historian B. Tskhomariya. It is worth noting that he was not just a public figure with an active life position, but also a caring citizen, a patriot of his region and an honored teacher. That is why the collection was originally in the format of a school, but later began to expand due to the replenishment of exhibits from private collections and the results of archaeological excavations. On the this moment the collection includes at least 18 thousand items of various historical and cultural significance. Many pedagogical teams and schoolchildren joined in the creation of the collection.

The most popular among visitors is the Hall of Military Glory, in which combat exhibits, weapons, as well as personal belongings of commanders, privates, military officers and even heroes defending the city are on view. The merits of the museum include the victory in the competition for the title of the best patriotic museum in Russia, which the exposition was awarded in 1998. Finding the museum is very easy. It is located in a recognizable building on Turchinsky Street at number 42. You can get there both by public transport and on foot (if you are staying near the attraction).

Cultural and ethnographic center "My Russia"

It is under this name that the cultural and ethnographic center is known in Krasnaya Polyana. After the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, the center was closed for a while and even a little forgotten about it. But in 2015, interest in it was revived, tourists were again able to visit the well-groomed territory, the restaurant, study the buildings, the construction of which used different architectural techniques and directions.

It is here that you can see and appreciate copies of such iconic buildings as the Moscow and Kazan Kremlin; a courtyard with a wicker fence and a thatched roof of the house, which seems to take all visitors to the Kuban outback; Ural plant for the production of bricks; Buryat datsan and many other buildings and structures characteristic of different regions of the country. To get to the center, tourists should get off at the bus stop public transport"Rosa Khutor". There is also car parking for those traveling by private car. Then you need to walk for about 10 minutes along the left embankment. But for visiting the sights of the money will not be taken.

Mineral spring Chvizhepse

This natural source of deep fresh water located in the floodplain of the river of the same name in a place called Bear's Corner. A place of unique beauty that strikes the imagination with a variety of meadow grasses and other vegetation. But tourists come to these places not for the sake of picturesque landscapes, but in order to enjoy the unusual taste of water. In addition, the source is famous for its healing properties. Perhaps this is due to the fact that water rises to the surface from a depth of several hundred meters. Another fact is interesting.

Those who have tried water for the first time say that in order to drink it, you need to force yourself to take the first sip. But it's worth it, because as a reward a person receives substances and minerals that promote blood renewal, renew the protective walls of the stomach. According to the locals, arsenic was found in the water in greater quantities than is safe for the human body. When it became necessary to sell bottled water from the source, measures were taken to reduce the content of this dangerous chemical element.

A visit to Chvizhepse is not free, but this does not affect the number of people who want to get to this picturesque and healing place. You can first get to the natural attraction by bus number 135 from Adler to the Chvizhepse stop. If you start from Sochi, then look for bus number 105 or 186.

Social and cultural center "Galaktika"

This site was created specifically to entertain tourists who are tired of the measured beach holiday. Take one day to fill your heart with bright emotions! The entertainment center has everything you need: bowling, billiards, a cafe, a water park, a cinema, an ice rink and a marketplace. And young tourists will definitely be delighted with a huge children's club, where children are waiting for bright adventures, educational games and classes with experienced teachers.

It is worth noting the impressive range of screenings in the cinema. There are several cinema halls here that offer viewing of films in 2D/3D/5D format. If you like it, you can stay for a night or a few days in one of the nearby hotels in order to continue entertainment activities with renewed vigor in the morning. The attraction is open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. A visit is paid and costs 100 rubles for adults and 600 rubles for kids (prices are based on the whole day).

Achipse Fortress

Fans of archeology and vivid historical events should definitely visit the ruins of the Achipse fortress. This place and its surroundings still bring grandiose discoveries to archaeologists, so geologists' camps always work here. Axes, knives, tools, clay products - all this and much more regularly falls into the "archaeological network". It will be interesting for tourists to look at the remains of an ancient structure, dilapidated due to hostilities and under the force of nature, walls and towers. get to interesting place you can take a minibus to the village of Esto-Sadok (for tourists who leave Sochi, minibus number 105 is suitable). After getting off at the bus stop, move upstream along the Laura River. The walking route is about 3 km.

Olympic Village

The Olympic Village became famous for the games in 2014, which became even more popular after this event. In the past - for athletes, and now for tourists a whole complex of hotels with a Scandinavian interior and a view of the snow-capped mountains from each room has been built here. Cable cars are laid to the village at an altitude of 1170 meters, which you can use for free, provided that you have settled in one of the hotels.

This place is more in demand among skiers, but for nature lovers there is also something to “profit” here - rivers, lakes, waterfalls, valleys and mountain ranges. From June to October, the village is calm, but still the Rosa Khutor recreation center is open to visitors. But in winter, it will be difficult to book a room due to the large flow of people who want to climb the peaks of the Stone Pillar (2509m) and Rose Peak (2320m) peaks, as well as affordable prices for accommodation from 500 rubles per day.

The Achipse waterfall at a height of 60 meters is represented by the source and tributary of the Achipse River, which, by their location and course, resemble the English letter “V”. 2 small streams begin their journey slowly and flow in small paths into one stormy mountain stream, for which they got their name. This natural attraction is located not far from Mirror Lake, but the path to it is laid through several forks, among which an inexperienced traveler can get lost.

From May to October, guides take groups of 10 people there for three-day excursions, stopping for overnight stays in the mountains along the way. You can get a pass to these places on your own at a price of 200 rubles. The 12-kilometer path in both directions and 400-meter elevation changes provide comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen, as well as plenty of food and water - the place is untouched by civilization and there is nowhere to get food.

The waterfall has such a name due to the legend about the love of an ordinary girl for a mountain spirit, who were not destined to be together because of the envy of an evil sorceress. Refusing the old woman's offer to break off relations with her beloved, the young beauty threw herself from a 13-meter cliff in the place where water is now continuously pouring, breaking on stones. Eyewitnesses of the waterfall note the "mirror" purity of the water and compare it with a tear.

6 km from Krasnaya Polyana, at the entrance to the old Krasnaya Polyana highway, there is a turn to the right, after passing through which you will stumble upon an amazing creation of nature, but it is better to organize a trip in autumn or spring. In the summer, the waterfall dries up and not only will you have nothing to look at, but you will not be able to perform the ritual for unmarried girls who are advised to wash their faces with this water in order to find a husband.

The highest waterfall in Sochi, and according to some sources in Europe, is located on the northern slope of the Aibga ridge at a height of 72 meters. Among the people, it is better known as "trousers" or "heroes" due to its shape and strong seething streams during the snowmelt period. There are three ways to get there: making your way through abandoned forests and roads to cable car K-13; get to the "Gorki-gorod", and from there go by cable car to a height of 960 meters, which will take a couple of hours; buy a tour to the waterfalls for 800 rubles and be there in 15 minutes. For those who like to “dissolve” in nature, the first option is advised, as you will be surrounded by breathtaking landscapes along the way. In the summer, tourists take swimsuits to take a shower under the receding waters of the Polikar.

Not far from the village of Krasnaya Polyana there are three picturesque reservoirs, named after the Polish botanist, surrounded by mountains and meadows, the most curious of which is the "Big", only 2 meters deep, but occupying 1 sq. km. km. territory. From a bird's eye view, neither it nor other lakes (Western and Eastern) can even be overlooked, since they are heavily overgrown with grass and leave only small islands of puddles. A walk will take 2 hours along a 13-kilometer route, and a trip on a rented Russian SUV will make it 2 times faster. Or you can buy a jeeping tour that will take you for about 9 hours in all the neighborhoods of Rosa Khutor, including the Khmelevsky Lakes, for 1500 rubles.

It is not so easy to get to the largest lake (133,000 sq. m.) in Sochi - 44 km from Krasnaya Polyana to it lie between two mountain ranges, and the gorge passes through dense forests, but the photographs of hikers from the tour to Kardavych convince that it's worth it. For 8 months a year the lake is covered with ice and heats up in the very height of summer to a maximum of 12 degrees Celsius, and the air temperature around Kardavych on the most exhausting hot days is 20 degrees Celsius.

The reservoir looks beautiful and frightening at the same time - in the ideal surface of the lake the bottom is visible from any point of view, the water in it is crystal clear. Bears, deer and other living creatures are found around Kardavych, while even fish do not live inside him. If you are lucky enough to visit here, take care of warm clothes and a pass to visit these and other places, as they will not let you in without it.

An independent trip to the Dzitaku Valley, also known as Semiozerye, will cost 1,500 rubles (for passing and using the cable car) or from 5,000 rubles for a guide. The guides offer to make this way, including food, tents, trekking poles and everything else that is necessary when traveling through the mountains. First, along a dirt road, and then making your way through the thicket of forests along the path, you will overtake the Bzerpinsky cornice, from where a view of the Aibga, Psekhako, Achishkho and Chugush ridges will open.

Before the subsequent conquest of the peaks, you can stay to rest in a rented tent (500 rubles per night), meet the sunset and dawn. Following the signs past rhododendron thickets and shallow ponds, you will finally come to big lake area of 20,000 sq. m. At the very beginning of the path, you can turn along another path that goes to the Pseashkho ridge and the Tabunnoye plateau, Mount Claw, and the Cold glacier. The recommended time to visit this valley is summer and autumn.

10 kilometers from the ski resort "Krasnaya Polyana" you will be pampered with its views of the surrounding expanses of the Black Sea and Abkhazia, Mount Achishkho from a height of 2390 meters above the ground. On the one hand, the “Horse” mountain is covered with fir and beech forests, and on the other, the slopes are covered with meadows, small lakes and waterfalls. For beginners, connoisseurs of these places recommend a route through the Khmelevsky Lakes or the Bear Gates, and experienced extreme people can pave the way along the Beshenka River or along the Greek Spur, which is famous for its steep climbs.

According to the huntsmen, the beauties of the wild nature are worth it. Achishkho and other sights of Krasnaya Polyana are located on the territory of Sochi national park and are carefully guarded, therefore, for the collection of plants listed in the Red Book, of which there are many, for hunting wild animals and for catching fish, you may face criminal liability.

In 1993, on the slopes of the Aibga ridge, the very first ski complex prepared 7 slopes of varying degrees of difficulty with a total length of 25 km. Since 2014, thanks to the Olympic Games, the complex has been actively developing, cable cars for tourists, attractions, excursion tours, snowboard equipment rental, paragliding, ski jumping, hotels, restaurants and parking lots.

The administration of Alpika offers to see the sights from a height of 2256 meters on observation platforms, which can be reached in two ways - using cable cars or skiing up the mountains on your own. On the same top there is a bathhouse with panoramic windows, from visiting which it is impossible to resist. When the kids get tired of mountain ranges, they will be offered a trampoline park and rental of ATVs, electric cars and other types of children's transport.

If in the early morning you are not too lazy and go from the Greek bridge along the path through beech and fir forests, subalpine meadows and streams, then after 4 hours the four famous peaks of Aibga will appear to you in all their glory, named after the Abkhazian tribes who once lived at the foot of these mountains. Two peaks, the "Black Pyramid" and "Stone Pillar", can be reached by chairlift, or you can do it yourself, saving money. At the top, you will be rewarded with a walk along a suspension bridge, as well as the opportunity to see foggy Russia on one side, and sunny Abkhazia on the other. It will take a whole day to conquer all the points, but with the help of hanging trailers you can keep within half a day.

Water park with an area of 5000 sq. m. able to completely replace seaside resorts, because in addition to the heated white sand, beach volleyball and air temperatures up to 30 degrees, there are several pools that simulate waves. 7 slides, the longest of which is 50 meters, and a jacuzzi pool with sea salt are open to all visitors from the age of seven. For children up to a meter tall, there are separate children's blocks with small water slides.

The park also houses Finnish saunas, salt caves, massage rooms, exotic spa treatments (fish peeling), a gym and a Mediterranean restaurant. Children under 6 years old, birthdays under 16 years old and children with disabilities upon presentation of documents are provided with free entry. The water park is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00 at a price of 1300-1500 rubles for adults and 800-1000 rubles for children. On weekends there are entertainment events for which you need to buy a separate ticket.

A kind of zoo differs from the rest in that the animals were not bought for it, but taken from poachers or picked up sick or orphaned in nearby areas, after which they are taken care of by veterinarians and transferred under supervision to the Laura Caucasian Reserve. Accordingly, the diversity of species is limited by the environment, but among roe deer, lynxes, raccoons, wild boars and vultures there are rare individuals listed in the Red Book.

The Eco Center also offers an interesting opportunity to take care of an animal, which means sponsoring it with food, toys, the right to choose a name for it and visit the zoo for free. Here, in cottage complex, you can rent a house, go to the sauna and rope park. Children under 7 years old do not need to pay for admission, the rest under 14 years old will cost 150 rubles, and adults - 300. The aviary complex is available every day from 9:00 to 17:00.

"Honey Paradise" is a visiting card and pantry of Krasnaya Polyana, from where it is impossible to leave empty-handed. Tourists buy tea, souvenirs, "folk" clothes, Orenburg scarves, Gzhel porcelain, author's wooden products and ceramics, dishes with Khokhloma painting and, of course, honey (from 200 to 5000 rubles) - linden, alpine, maple, chestnut, blackberry and honey. adding ingredients (pollen, nuts, prunes, ginger, dried apricots). The top ten purchases also include honey soap with various herbs and propolis, fur vests made of raccoon, fox and polar fox from 25,000 rubles, ceramic mugs from Kuban masters depicting local landscapes from 400 rubles. and herbal teas with mountain healing herbs and berries from 200 rubles. for packing.

Looking at the huge vault between the limestone layers, densely planted with broad-leaved and fir forests, one can believe in one of the versions about the translation of the name of this gorge - “the place where the lightning struck”. Cultural and historical monument at a distance of 50 km from the city center brings not only aesthetic pleasure from observing landscapes, but also historical value. It is known that the Kepshinskaya cave inside the gorge served as a haven for people of the Paleolithic era.

In addition, monuments to the engineer Konstantinov, who paved the way to Krasnaya Polyana, now closed, and the Red Army are also located here and are a mandatory item on the program. You will follow the points of the excursion along a steep road along the mountain vaults above the river, in which, according to local residents, salmon spawns from mid-October.

The Extreme Park began its work in 2014 and is on a par with the same complexes in Australia, Germany, China, Singapore and France, that is, there are 6 of them in the world. For lovers of adrenaline, there is entertainment for every taste - skybridge (a walk along the longest suspension bridge in the world at an altitude of more than 200 meters above the river), freestyle bungee (jumping from a height of 69 and 207 meters on bicycles, from a gondola, diving into the water) , rope jumping (jumping with a rope), flights through the gorge, a climbing wall, a rope park and a museum dedicated to extreme sports.

The owners of the entertainment center have purchased the latest equipment for insurance and the disabled - now people with disabilities can also experience an unforgettable experience. An entrance fee is taken - 1250 rubles, but for the use of each attraction you need to pay extra separately (from 1000 to 15,000 rubles).

A river valley with a width of 10 meters was formed as a result of an earthquake and is located in hard to reach place, where you can only get on an SUV. Tourists who love a comfortable stay or at least hike along the paved paths bypass the canyon - dozens of stone ledges covered with moss slide under their feet for 2 km. In a small lake of azure color between two rocks, you can swim and dine in a nearby cafe, and then either return home or go further and enjoy a shower under the falling waters of a turbulent river. Entrance to these areas costs 100 rubles per person.

According to the Soviet archaeologist Zamyatin, the cave was once inhabited by Neanderthals, tools and remains of which were found within its walls. Then a natural disaster forced the “first” people to leave their “native home” and they were replaced by bears, whose bones were also found in the cave. The monument of primitive culture over the Mzymta River (185 meters above the water level) can be walked around in a few minutes and it will cost 200 rubles for an adult and 100 for a child.

According to legend, it was for its bright autumn colors that Krasnaya Polyana received its beautiful name. The first settlers, descending from the mountains in autumn, saw crimson thickets of fern in a clearing between the mountains.

And the word "red" in Russian has always been synonymous with the word "beautiful". And there is something, and there is enough beauty here, in Polyana, in autumn: in the motley mountains, in panoramas, in imposing autumn walks along the sun-drenched embankment of Mzymta ...

But I suspect that such arguments will not be enough for some people to decide on a vacation. If you are wondering - why go to Krasnaya Polyana in the fall - then this article will be useful to you.

What you can see in Krasnaya Polyana in autumn, what is the weather like here and the price level in the velvet season - I will answer all these questions below.

Rest in Krasnaya Polyana in autumn

Rest in the velvet season has its own charms: there are fewer people, prices are lower. Many tourists are primarily concerned about the question - what about the weather at the resort at this time?

Weather in Krasnaya Polyana in autumn

The climate in Krasnaya Polyana is shaped by the surrounding mountains and the proximity of the sea. Compared to the coast, it is 3-5 degrees cooler here.

September in Krasnaya Polyana is still considered high season. Autumn is only on the calendar, warm days do not lose ground: on average + 27 ° C during the day and + 17 ° C at night. Rains happen, but not more often than in summer (and sometimes even less often) and in general the number of sunny days is three times more than cloudy ones. Only when you rise to the mark of 2000 meters above sea level and above, you can notice the autumn colors on the slopes of the mountains.

AT October it gets cooler, but the air temperature remains comfortable for walking: usually around +20°C in the first half of the month and around +15°C in the second. Often it is in October that the first snow falls on the peaks of the mountains; below, in the valley, while precipitation occurs only in the form of rain. It is in October in Polyana that you can make amazing photos when bright colors on the slopes of the mountains set off the snow-white peaks:

November brings the first frosts to Krasnaya Polyana. But the real winter is still far away. In early November, the temperature rarely drops below + 10 ° C during the day, but it is in November that heavy rains begin in Krasnaya Polyana. Although there are sunny days. Snow in Krasnaya Polyana at this time, if it falls, then quickly melts.

What to see in Krasnaya Polyana in autumn

We have seasonal entertainment in Polyana, and there are those that are available regardless of the time of year. Here we'll talk about them.

Inspection of the resorts

Resorts Gazprom, Gorki Gorod and Rosa Khutor have long ceased to be only skiing. There are plenty of attractions for tourists for every season of the year. You can read more about each resort here:

All of them have two levels: lower , which is available to absolutely all tourists, and upper, on a mountain plateau , where you can climb either by cable car or by car. For inspection lower level each resort is worth spending at least a couple of hours. Because each resort has its own architectural style, and you will definitely want to take vivid photos at each of them:

Ropeway ride to the peaks

The cable car ride can be made at any of the three resorts. Ticket price to the upper station: Rosa Khutor - 1590 rubles, Gorki Gorod - 1300 rubles, Gazprom-Alpika - 1100 rubles.

My advice: go up to the Gorki Gorod resort. It's cheaper than Rosa, although the height to which the cable car takes you is the same - 2300 meters. And there is an opportunity to walk around the circus 1 and circus 2 zones, see a waterfall, a mountain chapel and take such photos:

It is worth considering that at the top in the mountains it will be even colder than in the valley, ten degrees. Therefore, consider your equipment for such a walk.

At the upper stations of all resorts there are restaurants with panoramic views, so if you get completely cold, you can go in, warm up with hot soup or a cup of coffee.

Also, when buying a cable car ticket, you can walk to some waterfalls: Polikarya and Medvezhy waterfalls in the Gorki Gorod resort and in the Rosa Khutor resort:

In any case, allocate at least 3 hours for a cable car ride.

And descending from the mountain, you can go to see the following attractions.

Aviary complex

If you come with children, I recommend visiting this place. It's not just a zoo. Here in the enclosures live different animals that live in the Caucasian reserve and who needed treatment or care. Your children will see raccoons, wild boars, wolf and fox, beautiful lynx and wild forest cats. You will learn what animals you can meet on the walking trails around the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana, and what to do or not to do when meeting them.

Visit cost: adult - 300 rubles, children (7-14 years old) - 150 rubles, children under 7 years old - free of charge

Complex My Russia

The complex was built for the Olympics to show foreigners the whole of Russia in miniature. On the territory of the complex with a size of 3.3 you will see the most striking examples of the architecture of different regions of Russia - 11 thematic pavilions demonstrating the architecture of the regions of Russia: the Caucasus, Suzdal, Central Russia, Moscow, Krasnodar region, St. Petersburg Russian North, Kazan, Ural, Siberia and Buryatia

In 40 minutes, you can essentially do a route 9000 km long. You will be surprised how many-sided our Russia is!

The cost of tickets to the CEC "My Russia": Adult - 350 rubles. , children — 250 Rub.

Dolmens in Krasnaya Polyana

These mysterious structures are considered the same age Egyptian pyramids. Their appearance dates back to the II-III millennium BC. They are scattered along the entire coast of Greater Sochi. In Krasnaya Polyana you can see them by climbing to the very top of the village, along Achishkhovskaya street. There, on the banks of the Beshenka River, you can see several dolmens, some of which are clearly visible, and some are even difficult to distinguish from vegetation.

All dolmens are located at a distance of 10-50 meters from each other, and it will take 30-40 minutes to inspect them. This is not counting the road to them. In general, a walk to the dolmens is an option for well physically fit people, because the entire route to the dolmens is a constant uphill. But in autumn it will be at least not hot. And in good weather, you will have a great walk through the forest with moderate physical activity.

Apiary in Krasnaya Polyana

Tourists are often interested in: before Krasnaya Polyana became the No. 1 ski resort in Russia, what did people do here, what did they do business with? Answer: honey. For a long time, people living here "made friends" with bees. And this craft is flourishing here and today.

Apiaries are one of the "delicious" attractions of Krasnaya Polyana. Here you can taste fragrant mountain honey. You will be told about the gray Caucasian bee. This is a special mountain breed of bees, which has a high productivity and peaceful nature. At the apiary, you can buy your favorite variety of this healthy delicacy, as well as bee products - pollen, royal jelly and propolis.

Children are usually delighted with visiting the apiary! They will be shown a house (demonstration hive) where bees live and will be given a taste of 7-8 varieties of honey.

In general, the best souvenir that you can take away from Krasnaya Polyana is not magnets or mugs with caps, but delicious Krasnaya Polyana honey.

Tour of Krasnaya Polyana

Many tourists think that Krasnaya Polyana is a small village, and that all cable cars and other facilities are nearby. Or they don't think at all. And on the spot they understand that seeing all the places of interest on foot is not an easy task ...

If we calculate the standard route along Krasnaya Polyana (three resorts, the village itself, dolmens, an aviary complex, My Russia), then we get a circle of 40-45 km. Therefore, it is not worth hoping that you will slowly bypass all this on foot.

It makes sense to turn to private guides, they will pick you up from the hotel, take you around the Polyana, show you everything, tell you. Can be picked up from Adler or central Sochi. I can even suggest a phone number: +79384600693

Waterfalls of Krasnaya Polyana

There are several waterfalls in Polyana, but the easiest way to get to two of them:

  1. Keiva waterfall. I wrote about it in detail here:
  2. Waterfall Maiden's Tears. Not the most spectacular, but the road to it will not require much physical effort

Nearest attractions to Krasnaya Polyana

If the listed objects seem not enough for you, you can go to explore the tourist sites located on the way from Krasnaya Polyana to Adler:

  • Suspension bridge and Skypark rides
  • Trinity-Georgievsky Convent
  • Trout farm
  • Dragon's Mouth Waterfall

It is best to watch them all at once, because they are not far away (5-10 km from each other), and if you are by car, then it is quite possible to have time to see everything in a day. Or contact the same private guides, they have such excursions, the phone number is listed above.

What else to do in autumn in Krasnaya Polyana

Trekking

Biking

A great option for an autumn holiday in Krasnaya Polyana. Firstly, it is convenient to get to some sights on a bike (enclosure complex, dolmens, My Russia), and secondly, outdoor sports.

Collection of mushrooms and chestnuts

Someone likes active entertainment, and someone likes leisurely walks through the forest. That's just for them the information is useful that in autumn in Krasnaya Polyana go for mushrooms and chestnuts.

If in the whole country the peak of the mushroom season falls on September, then in Sochi the maximum number mushrooms usually appears by October, and in some cases by November. Most Popular mushrooms in Greater Sochi: white, chanterelles, blackberries, honey mushrooms. Don't ask about mushroom places - I won't tell))

Chestnut trees in Krasnaya Polyana can be seen literally everywhere. Various dishes are prepared from chestnuts, from side dishes to desserts. But usually we just fry them. Although in France, for example, this is such an important product that they celebrate Chestnut Day every year.

chestnuts can be plucked directly from the tree, but more often they are picked up from the ground. Nuts do not always lie without a shell, so you need to pay attention to their prickly peel, in which they often hide.

In general, even if you don’t collect anything, you will get purely aesthetic pleasure from a measured walk along beautiful forest paths. Breathe in fresh air, recharge with positive, get high from communicating with nature and yourself:

Each resort has suitable eco-routes. I wrote about some of them on the blog in the section

Prices in Krasnaya Polyana in autumn

There is no need to talk about a significant price reduction in September. But since October, everything starts to get a little cheaper: air tickets to Sochi, accommodation, and prices for cable cars.

You can see prices and book a ready-made tour to Krasnaya Polyana here: Tours to Krasnaya Polyana

Useful tips: where to live, what to eat and how to get around

This also leads to the second question - what to move on in order to be in time. If you plan to spend a couple of days only in Krasnaya Polyana, then you can get by with buses and legs :-) If you intend to move around a lot, rent a car. See prices and book here: car rental in Sochi

Are you used to using taxi services? Book here: Taxi in Sochi

How long can it all take

If you have very little time in Krasnaya Polyana (1-2 days), then I advise you to concentrate on the following activities: climbing the mountain on a cable car and a sightseeing route through three resorts and the village itself.

If there are 3-5 days left, then in addition to the first two classes, set aside time for at least one hiking route over the mountains. Or take an extended tour of nearby attractions: Skypark, Trinity-Georgievsky Monastery, Dragon's Mouth, trout farm .

Ready to answer all your questions in the comments.

Enjoy your travels and see you in Polyana!

General manager of the Solis Sochi Hotel and Dolina 960 in Krasnaya Polyana. German by birth, during his career he managed to open more than ten hotels in the mountains throughout Europe. He maintains his Instagram blog under the name Spindeldreher, where he talks about his life in Krasnaya Polyana

When we talk about Krasnaya Polyana as a winter ski resort, there are no questions. But as soon as we invite people here in the warm season, they raise their eyebrows in surprise and ask why go to the mountains in the summer when you can lie on the beach by the Black Sea? There are several good arguments: firstly, in the mountains, living in the summer is much cheaper with the same quality of services (the effect of high / low season affects). Secondly, unlike the seaside part of Sochi, there is clean fresh air, it is not very hot, it is quiet and there are no crowds of tourists. Thirdly, it takes only about 40 minutes to drive to the beaches of Sochi, and there are a lot of interesting and unusual places- I will talk about them below.

Bicycle rental, Extreme

This is a whole complex for mountain bike lovers, the total length of the tracks is about seven kilometers, and the height difference is about 340 meters. For those who crave extreme sports, there are blue slopes, while for beginners and those who prefer a quiet descent, green slopes await. Pavilions with excellent views were built along the tracks - you can take a break and admire the mountains and the Krasnaya Polyana valley. By the way, the infrastructure here is thought out just fine: there are mountain bike rentals, workshops for their repair, a free wash at the end of the route, and cable car cabins are equipped with special brackets for transporting bikes.

Extreme

Skypark Adventure Park AJ Hackett Sochi. The park was built by the New Zealand company AJ Hackett International - they were the pioneers of bandy jumping around the world, and their founder, Alan Hackett, personally oversaw the Sochi project. Skypark is located on the way from Adler to Krasnaya Polyana, more precisely, above it, at an altitude of more than 200 meters. There is a bungee here (these are elastic ropes that are attached to the belt or ankles) 207 meters long - one of the longest in the world and definitely number one in Russia! In addition, in the park you can jump from a shorter bungee, 69 meters long, swing on the highest swing in the world (as much as 170 meters!), Ride a megatroll - this is a rope over the gorge, stretched horizontally with a slight slope. Well, just take a walk along the longest suspension pedestrian bridge in the world.

Hiking tours in the mountains around Krasnaya Polyana are a mandatory item in the program in the summer. Few people know that Polyana is surrounded by the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve with an area of more than 280,000 hectares. Worth going here for walking tours: beginners will be enough day hike, and experienced tourists can spend a week here, sleeping in tents. It's incredible Beautiful places: alpine meadows, mountain lakes at an altitude of almost two thousand meters, waterfalls, fast cold rivers ... I would especially recommend visiting Lake Kardyvach, in the heart of the reserve. Granite rocks lie on its shores and high-altitude fir and birch trees grow, and snow-white mountains are reflected in the water surface ... In a word - beauty!

On the way from Adler airport to us, to Krasnaya Polyana, there is a trout factory - one of the largest in Russia and Europe. There are more than a hundred ponds where various types of trout are grown, including unique ones that you will not find anywhere else. Not only avid fishermen will like the trout farm: it is quiet and calm, there is a very beautiful panorama of the mountains, the Mzymta River flows nearby, you can buy the freshest fish very inexpensively in the store at the factory, and in the local restaurant it is very tasty cooked right on an open fire.

Rafting and kayaking

Krasnaya Polyana is located on both slopes of the Mzymta valley - a stormy mountain river that originates in the gorges of the Main Caucasian Range. The river is very popular among rafting enthusiasts: a fast current, beautiful views, there is all the necessary infrastructure nearby, in addition, there are no serious rapids, so almost anyone can raft down the Mzymta. There are several starting points - some are located in Krasnaya Polyana itself, others are a couple of kilometers from it. I recommend trying it at least once in your life - an unforgettable experience and a wolfish appetite are guaranteed!

Jeeping - a walk along forest and mountain roads in an off-road vehicle. A great option for those who do not like hiking, but want to admire the mountains around Krasnaya Polyana. Although the jeep offers a limited number of routes (and it is completely forbidden to travel on them in the reserves), it can be used to get to picturesque places. Including, to the canyons of the Psakho River and the White Rocks canyon. A mandatory item of the program is hot tea or mulled wine at a halt.

Yoga

One of the benefits of relaxing in the mountains in the summer is clean, fresh air that literally energizes and drives away stress. It is ideal to do yoga at a height, especially at dawn or sunset: the birdsong freezes for a second, rising Sun floods the valley with bright light, and its foliage shimmers with a million shades of green. In order to meditate, there are several convenient platforms: one is under open sky right on the roof of the Solis Sochi hotel, it is convenient to get up here early in the morning immediately after waking up. A couple of minutes walk from us there is a cable car that leads to a height of 1460 meters, there is a transparent pavilion for yoga in the summer. I am sure that it is worth trying both options, in any case, complete relaxation and peace is guaranteed! By the way, you can practice both independently and with an instructor.

Motorsport

Those who love cars and high speeds should definitely get to the Autodrom in the Olympic Park. In the autumn, the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix takes place here, and the rest of the time everyone is invited to ride a racing car, both behind the wheel and as a navigator, accompanied by a professional racer. In addition, you can come with your car and test it on the steep turns of a professional track, because the Autodrom is the safest place for such a test drive!

It is always cooler here by a few degrees than by the sea, because it is located in the mountains at a distance of forty-two kilometers from the sea, where it is surrounded on all sides by mountains. There are always beautiful snowy peaks of the mountains. Arriving here, it is impossible not to pay attention to how everything is built here, as if you were in Europe, only all this is located here in Russia.

Krasnaya Polyana is in the top ten ski resorts world in terms of elevation difference, almost one thousand seven hundred meters, slightly higher than Courchevel, and in terms of the length of ski slopes, it outperforms this resort almost twice. It is worth noting that the cost of rest with us is much lower than theirs.

If you want to book a hotel in the center, where shopping centers and various entertainments, then it will come out a little more expensive for you, unlike, for example: if you rented housing in the mountains and higher, in Upper Gorki Gorod, this will save you half your living budget.

There are incredibly beautiful landscapes, the purest mountain air, which can make your head spin. In the summer it is quiet and calm on the street, walking here, you can only occasionally meet random tourists who, like you, enjoy the mountain views and nature of the Caucasus Mountains.

Summer fun

One of the most affordable activities in the summer is to rent a bike and go for a ride. But for the most sophisticated bikers there is something very interesting - these are three types of tracks:

  1. If you are a very cool bike biker, there is a track with a red difficulty level for you.
  2. If you are just a little short of the title, a cool biker is the blue difficulty level for you.
  3. If you are just a beginner biker, but you are already doing well with your friend's bike, the green track is for you.

All routes were carefully worked out by the best specialists, while volunteers from different cities were also involved in the construction and planning of routes. On all tracks you can relax in specially designated places with stunning views of nature. If you like extreme races on a bicycle, then "PARK BIKE GORKI" is just for you. Cost from 700.

Three hiking trails on ECO trails

There is also a route difficulty system:

  • The first one with the level of difficulty is simple - called "Relic Forest", the length is 900 meters.
  • The second, with medium difficulty "Waterfall Bear", 500 meters.
  • The third, the difficulty is high, the length of the route is two kilometers, it is called "Alpine Meadows".

Cost: if individually, from 750 to 2500. With a guided tour from 150 to 600
