Azov resorts are emptying.

How about the rains? From April to October the coast is sunny. In May and June there are up to 5 rainy days, and from July to September precipitation is very rare.

Holidays on the Sea of Azov are popular with tourists who cannot tolerate high air humidity. The dry, steppe climate and fresh breezes from the sea are useful for everyone who often suffers from colds, has problems with the cardiovascular system, allergies and respiratory organs.

Advice. If you want to relax with your baby in 2019, come to the Sea of Azov before or after the summer heat. June and early months are ideal velvet season- first half of September.

Attractions and interesting places in Primorsko-Akhtarsk

Entertainment. Fans of windsurfing and kiting come to the Azov resort. Hang gliding, ATV safaris, sea fishing, paintball and horseback riding tours along the coast are popular here. Tourists go for walks around the protected Cape Kazantip. Many people go on bus tours to the Arabat fortress, Kerch and Feodosia. Families with children have fun in the aquarium and amusement park.

Pros and cons. After the opening of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, the problem was solved transport accessibility. Now the Azov resort is conveniently accessible by private transport and buses. There are no problems with food and shopping in the city. There are many undercurrents along the coast, so the sea water does not bloom and remains clean all summer. There is one minus - the resort infrastructure in Shchelkino is just developing.

The shallowest sea in the world and the warmest sea in Ukraine

The Sea of Azov - the Meotian Lake among the ancient Greeks, Karluk - among the Scythians, the Dark Blue Sea - among the Arabs, the Fish Sea - among the Tatar-Mongols, has been known since ancient times and does not lose popularity even now. Every year, tens of thousands of vacationers spend weekends and holidays on its coast - and this is only at domestic resorts.

The Sea of Azov is the shallowest sea in the world's oceans and the warmest in Ukraine.

The maximum depth of the reservoir does not exceed 13.5 meters, and the average is about 7.4 meters, so the sea warms up quite quickly and the water temperature near the shore is already by mid-May often reaches mark +18°С. It is at this time that a full-fledged beach season starts at the resorts of the Azov Sea, which usually lasts almost until the end of September. At the height of summer, the surface layer of water has a temperature of +26...+28°C, and sometimes even higher than +30°C.

The natural features of Azov have made the reservoir popular among tourists. Relatively long holiday season- about five months, traditionally warm water, gentle and smooth descent into the sea - these are the main advantages of Azov recreation.

Some of them are popularly called children’s and “all-Union” health resorts in the old fashioned way, and Kirillovka has even been given the official status of “Resort of State Significance.”

Map of resorts and the Sea of Azov on the map

This map shows main resort towns on the Azov coast of Ukraine and Russia. For the most relevant resorts in Ukraine on click a link to detailed review with a description of the infrastructure, recreation features, photos, etc.

Sea of Azov geographically and climatically

The Sea of Azov in geography is a semi-enclosed sea of the Atlantic basin and the most continental on the planet - in terms of distance from the ocean, located within two countries - Ukraine (territorially - Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions, north-eastern coast Crimean peninsula) and Russia (Krasnodar Territory, Rostov Region).

In comparison with other seas, for example, the Black Sea (with which it is connected through the Kerch Strait - approx.), the Azov Sea is a rather small body of water: its maximum length is about 380 km, its width is about 200 km, and the total length of the coastline does not exceed 1500 km.

Most of the coast of the Azov Sea is flat, small shell beaches. The only exceptions are the coastal hills of volcanic origin, which can be seen in the southern part of the reservoir.

Climate of the Sea of Azov is very strongly influenced by the vast steppe massifs that surround it on almost all sides, both within Ukraine and in the Ciscaucasia and Crimea - with their characteristic low amount of precipitation - an average of 300-500 mm per year.

Therefore, in the resorts of the Azov Sea, rain is a rare and short-term phenomenon, as is cloudiness, especially in the summer, which greatly pleases tourists and creates good conditions for a beach holiday.

In summer, local circulation of air masses is established on the coast in the direction from sea to land - during the day, and from land to sea - at night. These are the familiar breezes that soften even the extreme midday heat. That is why the usual summer air temperature for these latitudes is +28...+30°C and peak temperature up to +45°C on the shores of the Azov Sea is much easier and more comfortable to bear than on city streets.

Azov resorts boast high sun activity - for example, in Kirillovka the sunshine time is about 2320 hours per year, which exceeds this figure for the Crimean Yalta.

Coastal Features

The coast of the Azov Sea forms very bizarre figures and has unusual borders. The braids that abound in Azov have formed many estuaries and smoother along the seashore.

On my own coastline flat and smooth, however, many protruding braids give it a rugged appearance.

In some places the steppes approach the sea directly, in some places the coast has steep clay slopes washed away by the sea, in some places there are marshy flat areas and, of course, in sparsely populated places you can find abundant thickets of reeds.

The forest areas practically do not border the seashore, so the nature here is not as picturesque as, for example, in the Crimea, and at the height of summer it even takes on the appearance of a sun-scorched steppe. Small plantings of trees are usually either artificial plantings or abundantly overgrown shrubs.

Webcams on the coast

The landscape of the Azov Sea beach area can be seen with your own eyes using web cameras installed on the coast. For example, below is a webcam located on the Peresyp spit in the Zaporozhye region.

Fishing

As noted above, the Sea of Azov is warm and shallow. It was these conditions that at one time provided him with a fairly active reproduction of flora and fauna. In terms of the number of plant and animal organisms, Azov was a world leader, and the fish productivity of the sea (the ratio of the total number of fish and the area of the reservoir) was 40 times higher than the corresponding indicator of the Black Sea and more than 6 times higher than the Caspian Sea.

Until recently, the Sea of Azov was considered an inexhaustible reservoir for fishing - industrial, amateur, and sport. Gobies, flounder, beluga, sturgeon, thorn, stellate sturgeon, ram, herring - all this was far from a complete list of gifts of the sea depths.

But as a result of consumerism towards the sea, the population of many fish species has decreased, and some have even joined the list of endangered species. so despite the good natural conditions Azov today is systematically losing its glory as the most “fishy” sea.

Today, in the Kirillovka region, only the Azov goby or, in some cases, sawn gas remains the subject of real fishing.

Recreational effect and health improvement

The coast of the Sea of Azov is not only a popular holiday destination, but also an effective aeroion health resort, working through a combination of healing factors created by nature itself.

The air near Azov is a kind of cocktail that is saturated iodine, bromine, minerals and trace elements– due to active evaporation of water from the surface of the sea and estuaries and phytoncides brought by winds from the steppe massifs.

Provided that there are no industrial enterprises or busy highways in the area, such a mixture can have a general healing effect and alleviate conditions with acute respiratory viral infections, chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract and allergic reactions.

Azov sea water is also unique in its composition in many ways. It contains over 90 chemical elements that have a beneficial effect on the human body. In the bottom layer there is deposits of healing sulfide silt mud formed during the collapse of marine flora and fauna. Thanks to the shallow depth of Azov, even slight waves at sea turn the water into a mud suspension, and sea bathing into a health procedure indicated for diseases of the skin, musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and nervous systems.

By the way, there is also useless, and often harmful to health, dirt in the sea - there is plenty of it off the coast of industrial cities and ports.

Useful mud is found not only in the sea, but also in estuaries- salty bays, which are available in sufficient quantities in the Azov basin.

The mud of the estuaries is the basis for the functioning of balneological hospitals located in Kirillovka, Berdyansk and other resorts on the Sea of Azov - both in Ukraine and in Russia. In these establishments, vacationers, or rather patients, can be offered treatment that can improve metabolism, correct and stabilize the state of the peripheral nervous system, alleviate asthma and chronic respiratory diseases, after injuries and exacerbations of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, get rid of gynecological and urological problems.

Holidays with children on the Azov Sea

Children's resort - this is how almost every Azov region can be characterized. On the coast of the Azov Sea, the main conditions for the implementation of a proper holiday with children are met:

Mild climate, lack of acclimatization

The weather at the Azov resorts means sunny days, a sea breeze that softens the summer heat and a breeze that constantly brings new portions of phytoncides from the steppes and iodine and bromine ions from the sea to the coast.

Unlike a trip to the Mediterranean coast and the same South Coast, those who come to Azov actually do not undergo an acclimatization period, unless, of course, they are residents far north. That is why holidays on the Azov Sea at resorts far from industry can be useful for children of almost any age, even newborns.

Warm water, smooth descent into the sea

As mentioned above, Azov is a shallow sea, so the sea water has a comfortable temperature for swimming already in May, and in the summer the water is “like fresh milk,” which is very suitable for little ones sitting in the sea for hours. In addition, most Azov resorts have a sandy coastal strip, which does not injure children’s feet, and the deepening of the sea is gradual - in some places it is more dynamic, in others it is less, but without underwater holes and sharp cliffs.

Common foods

An important aspect for those who take children on vacation and make sure that the vacation goes without unpleasant reactions to unfamiliar food that is not specific to our latitudes. Plus, here you can buy seasonal vegetables and fruits grown in the Azov villages, the use of which can replenish the children’s vitamin reserves and improve immunity.

Pricing policy of Azov resorts

It is well known that in most Azov resorts you can find almost any number– from economy option without amenities to premium or VIP class housing, accordingly, the price of a vacation may differ significantly.

In addition, the cost of the corresponding rooms can be quite varies depending on region. The Azov coast is characterized by a division into inexpensive and expensive resorts.

The main factors for such pricing are popularity, “promotion” of recreation, infrastructure development, availability of entertainment facilities and convenience of transfer.

"Inexpensive" vacation

Inexpensive holiday on the Sea of Azov within Ukraine, you can, for example, in Stepanovka Pervaya, Primorsk, Primorsky Posad - without any special requests for organizing leisure time.

These resorts are purely beachy and are practically devoid of infrastructure and entertainment.

Mid-price holidays

The most popular resort in the Ukrainian Azov region is Kirillovka, which has all the conditions for tourists not to get bored - a large water park, a dolphinarium, an equestrian theater, an amusement park, a sufficient number of nightclubs, discos, and cafes.

Since high demand for vacation leads to rising prices, Kirillovka in this regard has been leading among the Ukrainian resorts of the Azov Sea for many years.

Melekino

The resort village 35 kilometers from Mariupol is also questionable in terms of the ecological cleanliness of the coast, as it is located close to the city and industrial giants.

The advantages of Melekino include the proximity of housing to the beaches.

Sedovo

The village is located 55 kilometers from Mariupol on Krivoy Spit. Small in area, it has about thirty boarding houses, recreation centers and hotels and has a reputation as a relatively clean region, due to its distance from large cities and industrial facilities.

Most vacation rentals in Sedovo are located 20-100 meters from the sea.

The main feature of the resort is its rather narrow beaches.

Shchelkino and Cape Kazantip

The city on the northeastern coast of Crimea, built to service a never-launched nuclear power plant, has the reputation of a youth party resort.

Republic KaZantip or Republic Z is an electronic music festival that recently took place on the territory of an unfinished nuclear reactor, the main attraction of the region.

In addition to non-stop partygoers, Cape Kazantip was a haven for windsurfers who took part in the annual competition for the Russian Funboard Association (RFA) Federation Cup.

Resorts on the Russian coast

And now we’ll briefly but thoroughly tell you about the resorts located on the Russian coast of the Sea of Azov.

Taganrog

Resort town in Rostov region, founded by Peter the Great in 1698, is included in the list of historical cities of Russia.

Taganrog is a seaport and industrial center southern Russia with large metallurgical and engineering production.

There is virtually no point in talking about any environmental friendliness of the resort.

First of all, tourists here may be interested in the well-developed infrastructure, historical attractions and cultural sites.

Yeysk

City on the Sea of Azov in Krasnodar region located between the Taganrog Bay and the Yeisk Estuary, at the base of the Yeisk Spit.

Unlike Taganrog, the city does not have very large industrial facilities, but there are plenty of attractions and entertainment.

The most popular among tourists is the Yeisk Spit, where the largest beaches, sanatoriums, recreation centers, cafes and restaurants are located.

Sea of Azov in Yeysk. Evening photo. ©V.Novikov.

No less popular is the Merchant District, which attracts tourists with its ancient architecture and the Taganrog embankment, which is considered the heart of the resort.

Yeisk has an active port and a railway, which add convenience in terms of transfer, but negatively affect the ecological state of recreation.

Primorsko-Akhtarsk

The resort is located on Akhtarsky Bay in the northwestern part Krasnodar region.

Among the listed Russian recreation centers, Primorsko-Akhtarsk can be called the most environmentally friendly.

The main industrial load here is borne by canning mini-fish factories; there are no large industrial facilities at the resort, and the railway station is unlikely to cause too much damage to the cleanliness of the air and water.

The disadvantages of recreation include a rather modest supply of housing at the resort and insufficiently developed infrastructure.

Taman Peninsula

The Krasnodar resort region is unique not only because it is washed by two seas - the Azov and the Black, but also presence of volcanoes, spewing dirt - active, extinct and dormant.

Taman. ©Andrey Sigida.

The largest and most famous among them are the Akhtanizovskaya and Karabetov hills and the Hephaestus volcano.

The pearl of Taman is the local “Switzerland”, a protected area with wild vegetation, which is very suitable for lovers of a secluded holiday in the lap of nature.

Last time we talked about where you can relax on the Black Sea coast in Russia.
Today we will look at the most popular vacation spots on the Sea of Azov, which is located in the southeast of Ukraine and southwest Russia. For obvious reasons, we will not consider the Ukrainian coast, but we will study the Russian side in more detail.

Let's start with the fact that Azov is the shallowest sea in the world. This means that the water here warms up much faster, which allows you to start the swimming season much earlier than in the Black Sea resorts.

The seashores here are mostly flat and sandy, the entrance to the water is long and flat. The Sea of Azov is often chosen by families with small children or those who do not like noisy port cities.

When choosing a vacation spot, consider the political situation. If just a year ago Yeysk was one of the most popular resort towns in Azov, then this year, due to its proximity to Rostov-on-Don, a large influx of vacationers is not expected here. For the same reason, the outflow of tourists will most likely occur in the Neklinovsky district and the Azov region.

To get to the Sea of Azov from Yekaterinburg you need to travel 2,600 kilometers. Near the main resorts there are two major airports— Anapa Vityazevo and Krasnodar Pashkovsky. There are also trains.

Shcherbinovsky district

Shabelskoe

The northernmost resort village on the Azov coast of Kuban, however, sunny days per year, here is no less than in the south of the Krasnodar Territory.

The village is located on the coast of the Azov Sea (southern shore of the Taganrog Bay) near Cape Sazalnik and salt lake Long. About 2,500 people live in the village. There are not many tourists even in the summer months. This is primarily due to the fact that there is practically no recreational infrastructure here. If the lack of coastal cafes and discos does not bother you, then nature and the sea will clearly delight lovers of solitude.

Glazing

Glafirovka is another small village in the Shcherbinovsky district. The beach, just like in Shabelskoye, is sand and shell. To the south of the village stretches the 6.6-kilometer Glafirovskaya Spit, which separates the Yeisk Estuary from the Taganrog Bay.
Here, by mid-May, the water in the sea warms up to 27 degrees, and in June-August on some days - up to 30-33 degrees. The swimming season lasts until mid-September.

In Glafirovka it is always clear and sunny; in summer there is almost no rain. The village is quite small, but completely paved. Housing is inexpensive, but the choice is limited. Quiet, calm and very green.

Primorsko-Akhtarsky district

This area is famous for its healing waters and mud. Therefore, here you can plan not just a vacation on the coast, but also treatment in one of the sanatoriums.

This area is also known for its winds, which create special conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. And, perhaps, this is the only area in which hunting and fishing are developed for tourists.

Primorosko-Akhtarsk

Primorosko-Akhtarsk is a small coastal town with a population of more than 30 thousand people. It is surrounded by estuaries, healing mud springs and lakes.

This corner of Kuban attracts with its open spaces. In addition to three well-maintained municipal beaches, you can also find some completely wild ones here. Almost everywhere the sea deepens gradually, the bottom is small pebbles.
This city is one of the few where almost everyone can find entertainment to their liking. Night bars and restaurants, city beaches are equipped with trampolines, children's pools and sports grounds. Sandy and small-pebble beaches also attract the attention of vacationers. That's why it's never empty here.

Yasensky car camping

There is another type of holiday in Azov. People often travel like savages in their cars. Therefore, a car camping was organized near Akhtarsk.

It is designed for 197 cars and 197 tent places. Visitors are offered comfortable bungalows, solariums, a bar, a kitchen, children's and sports grounds, water attractions and other conditions for a favorable holiday.

Achuevskaya Spit

You can get here by dirt road or by motor boat, so there are practically no vacationers here. Secluded sandy beaches and pristine nature for true romantics. Here it is customary to pitch a tent, fish and have conversations with the sky and sea. Nudists also like to relax here.

You can get to the Primorsko-Akhtarsky district by car or by bus. It is also possible to travel by train to the villages of Kanevskaya or Bryukhovetskaya, as well as to the city of Timashevsk, and from there by bus or taxi.

Yeisk district

Yeisk district is located in the north-west of the Krasnodar region, between the two capitals of the North Caucasus region: Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don.

As mentioned above, many will be afraid to travel to this area this coming summer due to its proximity to Rostov-on-Don. Therefore, all the gorgeous beaches and developed infrastructure can be quite attractive for those who do not like crowds of people. Well, most likely, no one will raise the prices. Although, who knows.

Shell and sandy beaches, estuaries and spits, freshwater lakes, shallow and warm sea - all this is the Yeisk region.

The main resort areas of the Yeisk region are: Yeisk Spit (city of Yeisk), Dolgaya Spit (stanitsa Dolzhanskaya), Kamyshevatskaya Spit (stanitsa Kamyshevatskaya), as well as the sea coast near the village of Yasenskaya Pereprava.

Yeysk is a large resort town on the Azov coast, which was founded at the end of the 19th century. If you fundamentally do not like children, then it is better to avoid holidays in Yeisk. Because Russian mothers consider it their duty to take their children here. In general, the Sea of Azov is very popular with families with small children. Because it’s sand, because it’s shallow, because it warms up well. Yeisk is no exception. Among other things, it is very green here: pears, apricots, cherry plums, apples, and cherries grow.

There is a lot of entertainment on the coast, both for children and adults: parks, an aquarium, and various attractions.

Long braid

30 kilometers from Yeisk there is one of the secluded places in Azov. There are no trains, no planes, and getting to the village of Dolzhanka is quite difficult. As a rule, those who come here in their own cars come here. Bikers gather here at the beginning of summer, and this place is famous among surfers who set up their tents here throughout the summer.

This place is almost wild. Several camp sites, a small number of houses - everything is located in the middle of the spit. There is almost no entertainment, and as a result, almost no tourists.

Attention! You should not swim at the edge of the spit because large quantity whirlpools. Every year people drown in this place.

Kamyshevatskaya Spit

The village of Kamyshevatskaya is located 38 kilometers from Yeysk. Quiet, peaceful place for a family holiday.
In the village there is an estuary with natural healing mud. The beach is sandy and shell. There are minibuses and buses running to Yeysk, so if you get bored with a calm, measured holiday, you can always have fun in a large resort town.

Many local residents They keep goats and cows, so you can always buy fresh, natural milk at the market.

Yasenskaya crossing

It is famous for the fact that it has the lowest prices for accommodation among the resort villages of the Azov coast, perhaps due to the fact that there is absolutely no tourist infrastructure here. The beach is shell rock, the sea warms up to 32 degrees by August, the water is often cloudy due to the muddy bottom.
Every May, the Yasenmai kite surfing festival takes place here.

Slavyansky district

The resort area of the Slavyansk region stretches for 45 kilometers of the Azov coast. In addition to traditional holidays by the sea, sailing, kayaking on the Kuban and Protoka rivers and regular hiking along the river banks are popular here.

Achuevo

Another small village of the Azov Sea. The sea is shallow; to swim you need to walk 150-200 meters. Usually everyone relaxes at the Oasis beach camping site, which is equipped with shady awnings, and on the coast there is a cafe, parking, barbecues and a tent with souvenirs.

Achuevo is far from a resort, just a small village with a beach. If you are not pretentious and want to save money, then you can relax in Achuevo.

Temryuk district

An hour's drive from Anapa airport is the city of Temryuk, which is the most big city Taman Peninsula.

Behind it begins the so-called Azov Riviera. This is about 100 km of sandy beaches along the coast of the Azov Sea from Temryuk to the Kerch Strait. There are four resort villages there - Kuchugury, Peresyp, Golubitskaya and Ilyich.

Kuchugury

Kuchugury is a village in the Temryuk district, just 60 kilometers from Anapa airport.

About five years ago I personally had the opportunity to visit there, I think that nothing much has changed.

Until mid-June there were very few vacationers; it often happened that the beach remained completely empty until lunchtime. The coastal strip itself is sandy, the entrance to the sea is gentle. The sea is more like a lake; during the month of our stay there were waves a couple of times.

There are always more people closer to the center of the village, so if you like privacy, it is better to settle on the outskirts. There is one in the center large store, in scale can be compared with the former Central grocery store on Lenin. There is a pharmacy and a pharmacy kiosk; if the required drug is not on sale, they bring it to order.

The market is also small, and like all markets on the coast, it opens from early morning. In the private sector you can buy cherries, strawberries, and milk.

There are taxi drivers driving around the village who, for a hundred rubles, are ready to go to the store at any time of the day or night.

There is a small park with entertainment for children; at night, bars and open-air cafes open next to the park.

The village is located 70 kilometers from Anapa on the Krasnodar-Kerch-Simferopol highway. It was located on both sides of the highway. One part of the village lives along the estuary, and the other along the sea. If you want to save on accommodation, then you should look for housing on the estuary side, it is cheaper there. You will have to walk across the road to the sea, and the whole journey will take 15-20 minutes.

Unlike Kuchugur or Golubitskaya, the tourism business here is just beginning to develop. Active construction is underway, there is practically no infrastructure.

The market is expensive, so if you have your own car, you can save a lot by driving only 15-20 kilometers in any direction, to the village of Za Rodinu or to the village of Akhtonizovskaya. Even on the highway, vegetables and fruits will cost half as much.

One of the advantages of this place is the Tizdar mud volcano, although, however, mud baths are almost everywhere on the Azov coast.

Golubitskaya

Stanitsa Golubitskaya is a popular and very popular place on the Azov Sea.
As soon as a crocodile farm, a water park, a dolphinarium, and exotic animal exhibitions appear in a review, we understand that life is in full swing here. Tourists must be entertained, tourists must be appeased, money must be extracted from tourists.

Do you know that we also have a crocodile farm in Yekaterinburg, but how often do you go there? But on vacation, don’t feed us bread, just let us look at the crocodiles.

Among other things, Golubitskaya has two markets, many bars and night discos. There is even a striptease, which is most likely a very exciting spectacle.

For lovers of healing mud, the Taman Peninsula is simply a godsend. Everywhere you look there is a mud volcano. So in Golubitskaya blue clay, even for money, even for free, I don’t want to smear it.

The beaches are sand and small shells, the entrance is gentle and long, in general, like everywhere else on the Sea of Azov.

Ilyich

The village of Ilyich is located on the shore of the Kerch Strait, a two-hour drive from Anapa airport.
Well, if you want to forget what civilization is, then this is the place for you. At ten o'clock in the evening the village simply dies out. There are no bars or restaurants here, just sea, sun and cheap fruit.

The lack of tourist flow also affects the shops. Only frozen foods are sold here; for fresh meat or fish, you will have to go to neighboring villages.

I think you have a question, why write about “Ilyich” at all, since there are no conditions for tourists there. I assure you, there is a reason, namely, gorgeous sandy beaches and solitude, which is so valued by lovers of wild holidays.

Taman is another village in the Temryuk region, located on the coast of the Taman Bay.

It is in Taman that the action of the eponymous part of M. Yu. Lermontov’s novel “A Hero of Our Time” takes place. Remember what he said about him? “Taman is the nastiest little town of all the seaside towns in Russia.”
In general, despite the fact that Taman is quite big city Compared to the villages described above, this is a “hole”.

There are a couple of museums with a meager collection, discos on the shore, and several beaches. But the main disadvantage is the location.

A cargo seaport is being built nearby. Just a couple of years ago, an ammonia export terminal and a food additives plant were built. In the north of the bay, on the Chushka spit, there is the Kavkaz port with terminals for transshipment of chemicals and fertilizers, but despite this proximity there are always a lot of vacationers here.

Every year the largest motorcycle festival in the south of Russia is held in Taman, which attracts up to 10 thousand people. If you get here at this time without pre-booking accommodation, it will be extremely difficult to find a place to stay for the night.

There are many in our country beautiful cities and holiday resorts in winter, summer, spring and autumn. Unfortunately, not everyone recognizes this and, according to some tradition, prefers to fly abroad to sunbathe in August and ski in January. But why, we have amazing seas: the Black, Azov, Caspian. It so happens that the resorts of the Azov Sea in Russia are not as popular as their neighboring ones. Black Sea coast. This is due to bad reviews about the holiday, about dirty water and not very beautiful natural landscapes. But these are just reviews, and if you yourself had visited the shores of the Azov Sea, you would understand that this is a gorgeous place and relaxing here is no worse than in other places in the world. And then beautiful nature, which only we have - in Russia.

Photos of Azov Sea resorts in Russia

The largest and most popular resort city on the Azov Sea is Yeysk. He is as popular as he is unloved. Someone admires him, someone after the first trip shouts: I won’t come back here again! And some are indifferent: rest is the same everywhere.

We will not encourage you to come here on vacation, but we will list the advantages of the resort and its possible disadvantages. Firstly, this is the sea. It is small, so it warms up quickly. So you can come here with children, they definitely won’t freeze. But on the other hand, a warmed sea blooms faster and becomes dirty. Therefore, the season here may end quite early.

People come to Yeysk not only for the beaches and the sea, but also for the sake of health. There are amazing mud resorts here that help get rid of many diseases. The variety of beaches is also amazing. There are sandy, pebble and rocky beaches. And every beach is surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery.
It is also worth noting that in terms of availability of recreation, the resort is constantly among the top five cheapest places to vacation. So if you want to relax at sea, get medical treatment and save money, then this is the place for you.

As we already mentioned. Yeysk is the only big city on the Azov coast, the rest of the resorts are small villages and towns.

Stanitsa Golubitskaya is one of such places. This small resort always in the top ten most famous summer resorts Russia. And the “blame” for this is the beaches. Here they are sandy and mixed with small shell rock and enriched with minerals. The air is saturated with iodine and is very beneficial for health and breathing. Despite the fact that the coast is not completely sandy, the bottom of the sea is only sand.

Vineyards grow near the resort. And Golubitskoe Lake is one of the favorite vacation spots among tourists. Here you can swim and take free therapeutic mud baths. The town has a small water park and a dolphinarium.

The next resort is the village of Dolzhanskaya. This place is simply ideal for a quiet and relaxing holiday. It's a small town and there isn't much to do here. But there's no one here untouched nature and beautiful scenery from everywhere.

The place is also unique because local beach located on a spit. And the spit goes far into the sea for 11 kilometers. If you can go all the way through the spit, you will find yourself alone far from the shore. The entire spit and part-time beach is made of sand with shell rock. There are also a lot of minerals and healthy air.

Since there is no entertainment here, vacationers love walks through the pine forest and the steppe, where flowers and medicinal herbs grow. The walk can be on foot, on horseback or on bicycles.

Resorts of the Azov Sea in Russia on the map

Look at the map of Russia, on which we have marked the resorts of the Azov Sea.

Kuchugury is a sandy beach with golden sand and very fine shell rock. The sea near the shore is always clean and warm. Kuchugury is a holiday destination with children.

There are orchards with fruits near the village, and local residents are always happy to offer guests fresh fish freshly caught from the sea. In the center of the resort there is a small children's park with entertainment. There are many children playing and having fun.

As you can see, the resorts on the Sea of Azov are quite decent. And most importantly, there is clean air, a warm sea, and you can be treated simply by being near the water on the beach.
