This is an abolished village, now a microdistrict in the north of Sevastopol.

Most likely, the name arose in the twenties (it is reliably known that in 1923 it already existed) of the twentieth century, when Sevastopol residents began to visit the local magnificent beach, and it can be interpreted as “ favorite place rest, swimming”, etc.

Story

The name Lyubimovka first appears in documents dated November 19, 1920. Then the Lyubimovsky rural revolutionary committee was organized, which operated until August 1921.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic dated February 25, 1938, Sevastopol was divided into 3 city districts: Central, Korabelny and Northern. Tourist base "Lyubimovka", sanatorium "Albatross", children's camp"Altair", recreation center "Horizon" and tourist complex "Mokrousova". They occupy the coast all the way to Uchkuevka. These tourist facilities keep the surrounding beaches clean without restricting access at all.

Behind Garrison Beach is a popular nudist beach. Another battery in the vicinity is Fort Shishkova (No. 16) - these are two old pre-revolutionary batteries located between Uchkuevka and the mouth of Belbek, on a ridge stretching along the coast. In 1914, during the First World War, this battery fired at the battle cruiser Goeben approaching Sevastopol, and during the defense of Sevastopol in 1941–42. “Fort Shishkov” was an infantry stronghold on the anti-landing line of defense. The complex is currently abandoned.

Lyubimovka beach is the longest in Sevastopol, its length is 3 km, and its width in some places reaches 100 m. The coast is covered with small pebbles mixed with sand and shell rock, and often there are completely sandy areas. The resort village became part of the city in 1930.

The beach village line begins immediately behind the popular Uchkuevka beach, the tourist and health complex named after Mokrousov serves as a symbolic border. After a series of breakwaters and all the way to the village of Orlovka, there is a continuous yellow-orange coastline that opens out into the open sea. In the evening the waves usually rise and the water becomes cloudy. The depth begins quite abruptly; already at a distance of 3-4 m from the shore you cannot reach the bottom with your feet. It is comfortable to walk along the shore barefoot; no special shoes are required.

The swimming season lasts from June to September, the water warms up to +20°C and above. Maximum temperatures are usually recorded in August.

Areas designated as children's health camps are fenced with a net. Swimming and sunbathing are not prohibited here, but if children come, you will have to leave the territory and move to another place.

Infrastructure and services on the Lyubimovka beach

Along the coast there are boarding houses, holiday homes and hotels. The locations near them are equipped with equipment, showers, rescue towers, anti-vandal sports equipment, garbage containers, toilets and changing cabins. Passage is free everywhere, there are no designated borders.

At rental points you can rent sun loungers, sun umbrellas and even rent bicycles for exploring the surrounding area. Stationary canopies allow you to hide in the shade.

Beach visitors can enjoy a traditional range of resort entertainment: paragliding, scooters, banana and tablet rides.

Food vendors walk through crowded recreation areas, offering to buy drinks, pies, pasties, hot corn, dried fish and oriental sweets.

Throughout the coastal area of Lyubimovka there are small shops, souvenir shops, sales tents, bars, snack bars and cafes serving European and Crimean cuisine.

In addition to landscaped sectors, there are “wild” zones without amenities, some of them are divided tent camping. Beyond the mouth of the Belbek River, lovers of solitude and nudists, who prefer to call themselves naturists, relax.

The Belbek airfield is located not far from Lyubimovka, and an aviation garrison is located in the village itself. Military aircraft and helicopters often fly over the sea, and silhouettes of warships can be seen on the horizon.

The central part of the beach is most suitable for families with children.

Next to the Lyubomorye tourist complex there is the artificially created St. Valentine's Lagoon in 2009 with sea water. A man-made reservoir combines the advantages outdoor swimming pool and a real beach. The maximum depth in the center does not exceed 2 m, and in shallow water with a flat sandy bottom it is safe to swim for both children and adults who cannot swim.

The water in the lagoon warms up to +22°C already in May and stays stably at +25°C all summer. You can ride on catamarans along the water surface.

In addition to infrastructure, the beach service includes a range of services: food and drinks in tents, inflatable slides and attractions, tennis and volleyball games.

Within walking distance from the beach there is the Alkadar winery and the legendary 30th defense battery of the Black Sea Fleet.

With the onset of darkness, Lyubimovsky beach becomes deserted. Nightlife the village cannot be called stormy, so lovers of holiday entertainment will have to take a walk to the embankment of neighboring Uchkuevka.

How to get to Lyubimovka beach

The fastest way to get to the village of Lyubimovka from the center of Sevastopol is with a transfer. First you need to sail on a passenger boat from the Grafskaya pier to South Bay to the pier in the northern part of the city, then at the bus station on Zakharov Square, take a minibus or bus NoNo 36, 42, 45, 47, 51, 52. The journey will take about 10 minutes. You can get off either at the terminus and walk to the sea along Fedorovskaya Street, or at the “Sovkhoz Perovskaya” stop and then take a 5-minute walk along one of the streets to the beach.
