Blue trails

The blue pistes are located mainly on the slopes of the Champoluc Valley, which gives reason to consider the resort a family resort. In other valleys the blue trails are very short.

The region's trail riding patterns vary greatly depending on the valley. While intermediate skiers will feel comfortable in Champoluc and Gressoney, Alanya is mainly a place for expert skiing. For beginners, there are not many opportunities to start skiing in Monte Rosa - in fact, blue runs are only marked on the slopes in Champoluc. One route descends from Mont-Roc (2457 m) to the middle station of the lift from Frachey. The other is located between it and the middle station of the ski lift from Champoluc. From the Cross plateau you can move to another ski area - Colle Bettaforca, 2672 m. There are many slopes for amateurs in this area, as well as a very difficult descent along the black route C12 to Frachey. Once over the ridge and Colle Bettaforca to Stafal, you find yourself at the lower stations of the opposite slope of the Gressoney valley, from where you can quickly reach the top of Passo dei Salati (2971 m). There are many interesting trails for experienced skiers - narrow, with very interesting terrain and a height difference of more than 1200 m. From here, truly extreme routes begin in the Alanya-Valsesiya valley, to Pianalunga (2046 m). The routes in Alanya-Valsesia are very interesting due to their length and terrain. The Balma V5 route from the top of Punta Indren (3260 m) to Bocchetta delle Pisse Forcella Bors and to Bocchetta delle Pisse, 8 km long, deserves special mention. You can also return to the Gressoney Valley via an off-piste route with highest point Forcella Bors, but this entertainment is exclusively for experienced skiers accompanied by guides.

There are many interesting excursion sites in the valleys of Monte Rosa, but for something larger like Roman ceremonial arches or medieval castles you will have to at least leave the valley (one is located right at the entrance) or go to Aosta.
