Beautiful hotel with green area and swimming pools. Good service and food. Convenient location. There are two good “sandy” beaches near the hotel. Not far from the Tourist Center in Lower Paphos and the bus station.

Cons of the hotel

The views from some rooms are spoiled by the large construction of a new hotel by the sea, and from some rooms there is a view of a large “sloping, yellow” field (in August).

Story about the hotel

Holidays at the Aloe Hotel 4*, Paphos, Cyprus

1. We rested together at the Aloe 4* hotel from July 31 to August 10, 2017. The tour to Cyprus was booked 10 days before departure to Larnaca airport. The hotel was chosen from the list of Biblio Globus offers remaining for this period. The criteria for choosing a vacation spot and hotel were as follows.

The choice of Cyprus: direct flight, quick registration of free “provisions”, quick registration of the tour, an ancient ancient country with beautiful “legends” and “remains of ancient palaces”, warm sea in the spring-summer-autumn months. Disadvantages for holidays in August: already from May the temperature is 30-35 degrees, the grass burns out, the hillsides are “yellow”, and the “coast” is no longer so “green”. Paphos selection: beautiful city on the seashore, there is a port, a fortress in the port, an embankment and a long promenade along the sea; there is a lot of interesting things in the city itself (an archaeological park, caves of “various saints”; there are beautiful streets and buildings; there is a water park, museums). Disadvantages: within the city limits on the eastern side there are only two sandy beaches (near the Aloe 4* hotel) and closer to the center there is also a “beach - embankment” with a descent into the sea along stairs (in addition to this, on the eastern side there are another 3-4 “micro - coves"). On the western side of the city, people also swim in several “small coves”. Choosing the Aloe 4* hotel: a beautiful hotel located across the road from two good sandy beaches; beautiful (according to the reviews) green area with swimming pools; less than 1 km to the embankment ( tourist center) and bus station, convenient location on one of the central streets of lower Paphos (Poseidon Avenue), where there are many shops and restaurants; mostly good reviews about the hotel. Disadvantages (according to reviews): a new hotel is being built in front of the hotel on the seashore, next to the Aloe 4* hotel, and on the eastern side in August there is a gray-yellow field, where in the spring or early summer there was probably “something green” (this spoils beautiful views from the hotel).

2. Flights and check-in. We took off from Omsk almost exactly on schedule, 5.5 hours later we were at Larnaca airport, and after about 1.5 hours we were already at our hotel (at about 11.15 local time). We left our things, walked through the streets, looked at the excursion offers of local travel companies, and at approximately 13.15 we checked into room 212 on the second floor of the eastern wing of the hotel. Everything in the room tripled for us: normal plumbing (although the shower head built into the wall looked somewhat unusual), cabinets, a table and cabinets with numerous “drawers”, a table, a refrigerator, a safe (they had to be paid extra), beds, a TV with a flat screen, a balcony with armchairs and a side view of the sea (the construction site was “not included in the review”, but it’s a pity that the large field was not green). In general, everything in the hotel and in the room looked decent, despite the relatively old age of the hotel. There were no complaints about cleaning the room (later). They cleaned the room well, changed towels and bed linen, added shampoo and gel. WF in the room worked fine, but unfortunately after a few days the iPad froze and the Internet was no longer needed. 3. Hotel territory, meals at the hotel. The hotel consists of a central and two side buildings. From some sides of the hotel buildings there is a direct view of the sea (now this is also a view of large construction site), some have a side view of the sea, and some have a view of the hotel’s interior (swimming pools, trees, lawns, cafe-bar). In front of the hotel there is its own beautiful green area for buses to enter, behind, on the western side, there is its own parking lot. On the ground floor there is a large hall, reception, shop, restaurant, cafe, cafe-bar. The hotel has modern elevators. The interior of the hotel is beautiful. There are many palm trees, other trees and shrubs, two large swimming pools (deep and shallow), a beautiful bridge, a lot of umbrellas and sun loungers, there are showers and rooms for “changing clothes”. Beach towels are provided from 9.00 to 17.00. Lots of cleaning staff. From the hotel premises, if necessary, you can exit through a gate in the fence and then go through the parking lot into an alley to the nearest small supermarket (water, wine, food, various things and toys are sold). At night the gate is closed. Conveniently, you can also go down from the “side” buildings not only by elevator, but also by stairs. For example, from our building, going down one staircase you get to the pools, and along the second - to the hotel territory in front of the main entrance. True, it was not clear whether the doors from the floors to the “stairs” were closed at night and whether strangers could, in principle, enter the hotel from the street along these stairs. On our tour we paid for breakfast + dinner. Overall, if you don’t find fault with the little things, I liked the food. Mostly everything was delicious. In the morning, the large hotel cafe offered: juices, coffee, tea, porridge, various cuts, various omelettes, sausages, muesli, buns, fruits, sliced watermelons. In the evening in the restaurant there was: soup, several options for “second” courses and side dishes, various salads, “fish dishes,” olives, sauces, “cakes and ice cream,” vegetables and fruits. Various drinks at dinner were at additional cost. At the dinner it was necessary to follow fragments of the “dress code” - do not come in a T-shirt. Shorts were allowed. All dining tables always had glasses and “large sets” of knives, forks, spoons, but unfortunately “all this” was not on napkins, but right on the tables. The evening could be spent in the café-bar in the hotel building. In the evenings at 19.30, those interested were invited for an additional fee to “eat, drink and listen to music” in the café-bar near the pool. But, probably, in this case it would be advisable to skip dinner at a restaurant, since it is impossible to “eat for several hours in a row.”

4.Beach holiday. Of the 11 days of rest, 1 day swam on the Coral Bay beach, 1 day on the Aphrodite beach (at the Aphrodite stone), 2-3 days on the beach near the Aloe 4* hotel, 4 days on the beach near the hotel Alexander 4*". The sea water in August was warm (26-28 degrees). The cost of the “umbrella + 2 sun loungers” set on all the listed beaches is 7.5 euros, but, in principle, you could buy yourself an umbrella for 7.5 euros in almost any store and bring it to the beach. In addition, for 2-3 days we swam in the pools of the Aloe 4* hotel. It took about 30 minutes to get to the Coral Bay beach by bus 615 from the Lower Paphos bus station (buses run frequently) to the “penultimate stop”. The beach is sandy, shallow, located in a large bay (the length of the bay is approximately 1 km). In 0.5 part of the beach there is no algae, the water is clean, then there is ¼ part of the beach with algae and then ¼ part " wild beach", where tourists arrive from Paphos by boat. You can get off at the last stop, where there is a smaller bay with two deeper beaches. Getting to Aphrodite Beach took about 1 hour by bus 635 (stop next to the Aloe Hotel). The beach is pebble, the water is clean. “Tourists”, just in case, swim three times around two stones located in the sea, so as not to make a mistake. One of them is called the “Aphrodite” stone. Please note that bus 635 runs approximately once an hour, and there is a break from 12.00 to 15.00. The beach near the Aloe 4 hotel is located in a bay 200-300 meters long. In the first half of the day the water on this beach is clean, but then quite a lot of algae appears near the shore. The beach near the Alexander 4 hotel is smaller in size, the water is clean, algae and garbage are often cleaned during the day. I liked this beach more than others. Swimming in the pools was convenient (no need to go anywhere), but the water in the pools in August was too warm (about 30 degrees or more).

5. Holidays and excursions in Paphos. In 2017, Paphos is considered the “Center of European Culture”. But special festive events it was not noticeable. Once during the holiday there was a concert at the fortress on the embankment, and on August 4-6 there was a beer festival. Typical entertainment in the evening is walking along the embankment or along the promenade along the sea, visiting various cafes and restaurants, visiting souvenir shops and the large Papantoniou supermarket near the embankment, or a large shopping center King Avenue Mall (about 1 km from the waterfront). To the latter, you can travel one stop, for example, by bus 610 from the bus station in Lower Paphos or walk. Excursions are approximately the same from a hotel guide and from various excursion bureaus. With a hotel guide, the cost of excursions is about 50% higher, but there are also positive aspects (lunch may be included, and guides, as a rule, conduct interesting excursions). If you pay for a minibus excursion (up to 15 people), then the cost increases by 50-70%. The lack of long-distance excursions from Paphos (monasteries, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and various villages) - the travel time takes 5-8 hours and only a couple of hours remain “on the excursion itself”. Such excursions take the whole day. Where we visited and what we saw: - “Grand Tour” excursion, with a trip through the Troodos mountains, visiting the most famous monasteries (Kykkos and others), a winery in the mountains and a mountain village where various jewelry is made and sold. The excursion was paid for at the hotel to the hotel guide. The excursion was conducted by a very good tour guide, Georgius, and I really enjoyed the excursion to the mountainous area. It turned out that in the mountains there is a very beautiful green area, pine trees, cedars, and Cypriot oaks grow. Then, since it was a pity to leave the sea for the whole day, we ourselves visited: - the archaeological park in Paphos (excavations, mosaics, amphitheater...); — catacombs of Saint Solomonia; - Basilica of Chrysopolitissa, ancient church, column of the Apostle Paul; — we took bus 610 to Upper Paphos in the morning, bought fruit at a small market, then walked along the beautiful Archbishop Makarios Street, went to a large souvenir market (market), observation deck; — we went to Coral Bay beach for almost the whole day (bus 615); — we went for almost the whole day to the stone and beach of Aphrodite (bus 635). In the evenings we usually had time to buy something at the Papantoniou or King Avenue stores. It seemed that in the shops of Paphos almost everything imported (except for olive oil and olives) was imported from other regions or from other countries, and almost everything was expensive. I liked the cheeses, olives, and bread that I bought in stores. Cypriot dry wines seemed “average” in quality.

6. Conclusion. I liked my stay at the Aloe 4* hotel. A beautiful hotel with green areas and swimming pools, good service, delicious food, convenient location(there are two good beaches nearby, the hotel is close to the Central Embankment). Paphos also liked its location by the sea, ancient history, legends and archaeological values. Probably, Cyprus is still more beautiful in March-May, when “everything is green” and when there are a lot of flowers, and it would be logical to visit it during this period. But since we were vacationing in a hotel that was practically on the first line, and besides, we usually walked along the promenade along the sea, along the way and in August we saw many palm trees and flowering trees every day. In addition, in the mountains we saw “green” Cyprus, as if we had suddenly found ourselves in “spring”.

Departure from the hotel was at 19.00, so at 12.00 we moved our things to the storage room, walked around the city, and then relaxed near the pool until departure. Perhaps this information will be useful for someone (a few photos, unfortunately, were preserved only on a cell phone). Omsk, Igor, Galina

Normal hotel, good for elderly and families with small children. Clean, quiet, excellent breakfast. We had half board, in vain, it is better to have dinner in the city. At dinner in the restaurant they were seated: i.e....More ▾ Normal hotel, good for elderly and families with small children. Clean, quiet, excellent breakfast. We had half board, in vain, it is better to have dinner in the city. At dinner in a restaurant they were seated: i.e. You walk in and there’s a “manager” standing there asking how many of us there are and pointing to the table. I didn’t want to sit on the aisle, but I had to, it was uncomfortable. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, we sat downstairs. We were not alone: o)) There are scales for luggage (1 or 2 euros per weighing).

We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the sea - a mistake, the sea is cold (end of August!), not transparent, a lot of algae, the beach is unkempt, the sunbeds and umbrellas are old. They cost the same as everywhere else - 2.5 euros per unit, for two people 7.5 euros per day. There is an excellent path along the sea in both directions, it goes very far, you can ride a bicycle along it, but in “Aloe” bicycles are expensive and without locks, so it is better to take them in the city.

The hotel has excellent swimming pools, good sun loungers (though they should have been reserved earlier), cleaning, friendliness of the staff - everything is excellent. There is a free ironing room, a small fitness room, and a paid sauna. The air conditioning in the room worked great.

The waiters were annoying, insistently inviting us to evening events (Cypriot evening, magicians, etc.). I understand that they are obliged, but I didn’t like it. There's a poster hanging in the elevator and that's enough. The anti-feminine uniform of the waitresses was also surprising.

There were a lot of older, fat people in the hotel.

There are no maps of the surrounding area at the hotel, but there are many places in the city where you can get one. There is no information on transport, buses or schedules either. Those. the hotel seems to be closed in on itself.

Around: bus 1.5 euro trip. Day pass 5 euros throughout the Paphos area. Tickets are sold by the driver upon boarding. At the Karavella bus station, Russian-speaking workers provide advice and give schedules in Russian. For 5 euros you can get to Aphrodite’s baths (on Akamas) with transfers, to Polis, to Aphrodite’s rock (without transfers for 1.5 euros, 40 minutes), to Coral Bay (it’s better to go there, but to nearest beach don't walk at all). In the port near the medieval fort there is a stage where in early September there are opera performances and sometimes concerts.

Movies are sometimes shown on the beach in the evening. They unroll the sunbeds and install a huge screen on the house where the showers and toilets are.

Excursions provided by a hotel guide are, of course, the most expensive; there are plenty of places nearby with the same offers at a more friendly price. Walking around the city we came across very reasonable prices, like 19 euros for a trip to Kykkos with stops somewhere else. On the beach and at the hotel you can find a driver with a car, Nikolai, who once moved from Georgia, with good Russian, he takes four people in a car, drives them around the island, it was 140 euros (35 per person).

Cyprus, as before, maintains its position among the favorites sea resorts, popular among our compatriots. Therefore, in our article we want to talk about one of the hotels on this wonderful island. Aloe Hotel is located in one of the popular tourist areas Pathos. The complex is ideal for families with children, which attracts the attention of many tourists.

Location

The charming Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) is conveniently located near the central part of the resort and the beautiful Paphos harbor with an ancient castle from the Middle Ages. One hundred and fifty meters from the hotel there is a beautiful beach. The nearest one is located thirty meters from the hotel.

The address is Paphos 8101, Poseidonos Avenue PO Box 60190. The nearest Paphos airport is eighteen kilometers from the hotel.

I would like to note that the hotel complex was completely refurbished and reconstructed in 1996. The hotel consists of a series of low-rise buildings built in traditional Greek style.

Rooms

Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) has 272 well-designed rooms. All of them are made in a modern style. Vacationers can choose apartments of different categories:

  1. Family Standard Suites - spacious, comfortable rooms for families with children.
  2. Doubles Rooms (Twin Rooms) have views of the gardens, mountains, and swimming pools. The apartment is designed for two adults and one child (three adults can be accommodated).
  3. Doubles Rooms (Twin Rooms) Sea View. From the balconies of the room there is a beautiful sea view.
  4. Superior Suites are a superior suite featuring a bedroom with an extra-large bed and a separate living room.

All apartments are connected to central heating and have an air conditioning system. Each room is equipped with a bathroom, telephone, TV, minibar, balcony, radio, hairdryer.

The hotel has spacious apartments for families with children. In addition, several rooms are accessible for disabled guests. For vacationers who value luxury and comfort above all else, the hotel offers luxury apartments. Comfortable, modern rooms have balconies with scenic views of the sea or the surrounding Paphos area.

Bars and restaurants

Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) has a Mediterraneo restaurant, which offers the best dishes of Cypriot and international cuisine. In the evenings, thematic and folklore shows are held here.

Breakfast options are available daily at Café Paradiso. buffet. Guests can enjoy a variety of drinks, cocktails and snacks throughout the day at the Islander Bar. In the evenings, tourists can relax and enjoy live music at a place called Moonlight.

In addition to the standard buffet, hotel guests can order dietary dishes.

Hotel services

The Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) has two swimming pools on its territory. One of them is indoor and heated; vacationers can use it all year round. The second pool is located outside and has lagoons and fountains. Nearby there are recreation areas with sun loungers and umbrellas. Hotel guests have access to a jacuzzi, massage sessions, a wellness center, and a tennis court with special evening lighting. On the territory of Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) there is parking for vacationers' vehicles. In addition, there is a car rental office. Tourists can rent cars if they wish to travel around the island on their own.

The complex offers a sauna, bathhouse, hammam, gym, hydromassage baths, nightclub, beauty salon, hairdresser, shops, doctor services.

In addition, on the territory of the Aloe Hotel there are several conference rooms equipped for seminars, business meetings, and meetings.

Sports entertainment

For active holidaymakers, Paphos Aloe Hotel 4* offers a tennis court, fitness room, exercise equipment, table tennis and billiards. Fans of scuba diving can go diving; there are all the necessary conditions for this.

Entertainment for children

The weather in Paphos could not be more suitable for sea holiday. It’s not for nothing that the city has long become famous resort. It is especially good to relax here for children, who are more demanding of the temperature regime of water and air.

The hotel offers its youngest guests a separate swimming pool and children's playground. In addition, the restaurant offers a separate menu and special highchairs for young holidaymakers. Babysitting services can be ordered for an additional fee.

Hotel beach

Next to Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) there is a sandy beach. It is fully equipped and has all the necessary amenities. However, I would like to note that sun loungers and umbrellas are available for a fee. This trend is observed along the entire coast of Cyprus.

Excursions and entertainment

The city of Paphos is very small, it is located in the southwest of Cyprus and has a long history. Once upon a time during the Roman conquests he was ancient capital islands. That is why it represents a historical and cultural center all of Cyprus. The city of Paphos has so many attractions that while vacationing here, it is simply impossible not to visit at least some of them. Moreover, everything ancient monuments The towns are included in the UNESCO list of cultural world values, and therefore are under the vigilant protection of the state.

To see the sights, you can contact the excursion point Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos). The tours offered here to tourists are not limited only to the historical values of Paphos - you can book any excursion around Cyprus. However, according to reviews from vacationers, in order to fully see the entire island, it is better to rent a car at the hotel. It will cost less, and you will be able to see more.

Tourists should definitely see it. As you know, the weather in Paphos is hot, so it’s better to explore the ruins early in the morning or after five o’clock in the evening. The tombs are interesting because they are dotted with a whole network of passages and stairs. They are exact copies of those houses and palaces in which kings once lived.

Aphrodite’s bath, which according to legend gives eternal youth, is popular among vacationers. You can only get here on foot, and there is no charge for visiting the fountain and baths. But the temple of Aphrodite itself is located fifteen kilometers from Paphos. It was built back in the twelfth century.

According to tourists, the Baths of Aphrodite is a very beautiful and romantic place. Beautiful sandy beach and the cleanest sea are worth your attention.

Not far from Paphos is the Hermit. Once upon a time a monk chose beautiful place and dug a cave in the mountain, in which he lived for many years. People came to him, and gradually a temple grew next to his monastery. Modern look he found it only in the fifteenth century.

Guests of Paphos can also visit ancient settlement Yeroskipos, located in the east. According to legend, it was here that the sacred gardens of Aphrodite were once located, where she indulged in love. The main attraction of this place is the Church of St. Paraskeva.

In addition to historical attractions, hotel guests can visit the famous water park, which is considered the most popular destination among vacationers. No less interesting is the bird park, where real bird shows are held in the amphitheater. Here you can see many exotic animals and birds. Petra tou Romiou is especially popular among women. This is perhaps the most picturesque place all over the island. According to legend, it was here, at the very foot of a cliff made of sea foam, that Aphrodite was born.

Pathos seems to be woven from legends and traditions. Just for the sake of the goddess Aphrodite, many tourists come to Cyprus every year.

Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos): room reviews

Currently remains, as before, one of the most popular and budget options for a vacation. Now many tour operators are vying with each other to offer tours to the island, including Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos) - Biblio-Globus, Coral Travel and many others. However, as practice shows, not all hotels meet the stated parameters. What do vacationers say about Aloe Hotel 4* (Paphos)? Reviews about the complex are quite contradictory: from complete delight to the point of dissatisfaction. Let's take a closer look at the main points.

According to tourists, the hotel has good staff. Settlement occurs quickly without any problems. It doesn't take long to get to the hotel. It is indeed located on the first line, but it should be taken into account that there is a road in front of the complex. Therefore, rooms facing the sea are naturally located on the side of the roadway. Perhaps for some, such a neighborhood will seem very noisy and inconvenient. The quietest apartments here are those overlooking the pool and side street with side sea views. They are located on the shady side, and therefore the sun does not reach here. This is a very good option for hot weather.

The rooms have air conditioning, but it is clearly not sufficient. The furniture of the apartments is in good condition, the TVs are old (from the nineties). As for cleaning, it is done very efficiently every day. In this case, you don’t have to leave a tip; such a bonus does not affect the quality of the process in any way. Towels are also changed daily, but bed linen is changed once every three days.

The building itself hotel complex not old, but inside it is noticeable that in some places repairs and replacement of equipment are required. In general, the interior decoration of the hotel is quite decent. Everything is clean and tidy. There are no cockroaches or ants in the rooms, which is very pleasing. Of course, if anyone expects to see a fashionable hotel here, then one should not be mistaken, otherwise they will be disappointed. The complex fully meets the price-quality ratio, so you should not make excessive demands. It’s not for nothing that Paphos, whose prices are quite reasonable, is considered a budget resort.
