For now, this difference is not so dramatic, because many boarding houses easily and free of charge allow those who do not stay there to visit their beaches. In general, the entire beach area, like the town itself, is divided into those belonging to Old and New Gagra.

Old Gagra, which is closer to the border, is the historical part of the settlement, and the beach here is less developed, but quieter. Behind it are Soviet boarding houses and recreation centers, and a little further away the city's attractions begin - in particular, beautiful parks. We can say that the beaches of Old Gagra are more beautiful and calmer. But there is no entertainment or attractions here, and it can be difficult to get sunbeds and umbrellas.

New Gagra, as the name suggests, is younger and livelier. It extends to the south, towards Pitsunda. The beaches of New Gagra are smaller and more numerous.
